You could be right. But a player such as JvR, Voracek or Read should be able to get you a very good young defenseman (if your willing to part with one). - stveshdy
I'd rather give up Read. I think what you saw this year is about as good as he's going to be, maybe a little better. He's a solid two way player but I don't know if he's ever gonna be star caliber. Guys like JVR and Voracek i think have bigger potentials. |

The problem I see with most people including myself is that even when you eat all of that your still hungry in less than an hour. Thats been my biggest issue. Have to get my stomach to shrink. Right now I try to eat fruit or drink water to fill the stomach up. - stveshdy
Sugar Free gum is the poop.
When I was a wrestler and had to cut weight I literally ate nothing but Bananas and PB + J's. Drank nothing but water. Fun diet out there for anyone looking to go extreme for a bit and cut some serious lb's |

Only issue with that is JvR and Voracek cost much more than Read at this current time. Read's contract is pretty important but I do hear what your saying. |

my sophmore year I made the varsity team at 215 b/c there was no one there but I weighed 170 pounds. To wrestle at 215 I had to get up to 176. So for that season during weigh ins I would eat Mcdonalds milkshakes and quarterpounders. We even ran a pool one day for how many qpounders I needed to eat to get there. I ended up going like 17 -5 with like 8 forefeights it was great I even made the All conference team. sitting there in the lockerroom with a big bag of mickey d's while guys are jogging in place and doing jumping jacks was hysterical. |

Not to get personal, but I've battled weight issues all my life. Food addiction is like any other addiction. It's not about being hungry. Food addicts eat even when they aren't hungry. That's not the case for everyone obviously.

Is what we saw this season of Read not impressive though? He's still pretty young at age 25 and he still has much to learn. I feel he could go either way and since he can play all 3 forward positions and was trusted on special teams, why would we want to give up this sort of player? I wish we had more Matt Read's on this team. |

Me too. And that's all very true. And that's when professional help might be necessary. Fortunately for me, just getting a hold of a good book that explained nutrition and exercise in layman's terms was enough. That and a clear desire to follow it. I honestly never really understood how my body used (or couldn't use) what I was putting into it before I learned about it. I'm never going back now. |

Oh Im good with him too, he had flashes of brilliance on the PP and when he'd get into the open ice. I hope they figure out something suitable and keep this group together. |

like either holmer or lava said he just needs to work on his shot. he has perennial allstar written all over him IMO..... patrik elias (who may be biased since they're both ceck) thinks he's the flyers' 2nd best forward |
