I'm a fan of Yandle others dont like his game. I think hes the type of guy the Flyers could use at the point.

Might not have the physical edge of others, but he is certainly capable in the corners and a very good PP QB. His cap hit isn't bad at all, I really like the potential of JVR, but I think Yandle would be worth it.

Giroux, Briere, Couturier and Stoll.

Thats what I'm looking at.

Schenn and Talbot on the wing.

I'm not interested in Couturier on the 4th line.

It might be different on the Flyers versus the Coyotes. But Yandle had 0 PP goals this past Season and had less points on the PP then Carle.

Dont disagree with that. I actually would like to move Briere there and limit his minutes. Hes getting older and health could be an issue with him. Obviously you dont put a player like him on your 4th line.

You think Stoll would be okay with that 4th line role? Chances are he will move up and down the lineup bc of injuries.

they've had a handful of guys that showed moments of looking like they could be the guy, going all the way back to boucher. but they've just never quite pulled it off, and after 2-3 years they move on to the next one. sometimes a draft pick, sometimes a free agent, some times an undrafted guy. bryz has the ability to perform as a top goaltender in this league, although i'm not a fan of the way he plays exactly. the flyers are banking on that. a lot. even if you have "the guy", it's not guarantee you'll win a damn thing. look at lundqvist. this was finally the first year since his rookie season in '06 where he's had a real "team" in front of him. and they still lost in the conference final.

Yea that's all true.

As a player, albeit it was DIII, we had great goalies. We were a bad team, but we had good goalies. It was just a good feeling to have and it was something I didn't have to really think about while playing.

Then I've played on teams since where we had bad goalies. That crap is in the back of your head during a game and soft goals deflate everyone, I don't care what level of hockey you play either, it's horrible.

I like the calming effect a stud netminder can give to a team.

Interested in some feedback, rank the following d-man who you would want the Flyers to acquire if possible: Suter, Bogosian, Yandle, Subban, L. Schenn. I'm also assuming the Flyers are resiging Carle.

Are you saying Briere on the 4th line? And no, Stoll wouldn't sign somewhere to play on the 4th line.

I'm saying I would like to limit Briere's minutes during the regular season but theres no chance he plays on the 4th line. Theres no way they pay him that kind of money to be a player on that line.

I like what Stoll does but I rather have Couturier getting more minutes next year.

I personally don't see any reason why Briere has to have his minutes limited.

At what cost to acquire are you willing to go? The Flyers are going to have to trade assets on the current roster to get a deal done with any of the d-men I mentioned. Just curious.

Thats fair. I just think at his size, age and injuries the past couple of seasons he may be getting worn down. Limiting his minutes some in the regular season to help keep him fresh. Thats my personal opinion on Briere but I can see why theres no reason to limit him. I guess he can handle it.

Off the top of my head not sure about that. I'd probably give up JVR for him though.

not a premier dman, just a solid player. w/ kimmo on the wane and pronger out of the picture, the flyers need is obvious. not saying it would be easy to acquire one.

I guess it depends what your definition of "premier" is.

Ok, the forwards I would have a real hard time giving up in a trade are Giroux (obviously), Coots, Schenn, and Read. I just love the idea of having G, Coots, and Schenn possibly being the top 3 centers for the next 5 years or more.
