Well this at least came back to something Oilers related instead of the 4+ pages of gay leafs/Nucks chatter.

I disagree, I respect his opinion on the OHL. This Yakupov thing is a little ridiculous.
- yea-ok-buddy

I'll concede to the point that he seems to have a good grasp on some prospects in the OHL... but in general... he over analyzes players and tends to base opinions on bizarre areas of their game.

I like him, his speed is awesome but he needs a change of scenery... I would like a late 2nd or early 3rd for his rights and that could be conditional on a resign. I'm not sure if that's fair market value though.
- I-own_da-Northwest

raymond just needs a change. he doesn't fit in the canucks system.

2nd or 3rd is pretty fair

Everytime i look at that potential top 6, the same thought strikes me. So small and easily pushed around.
Could we handle the size and brute strength of the la kings for example? even with a few more years under there belts?? I dunno man.

Its seems so simple. Take out the least talented small forward in the top 6 to add some size to it.
Even sacrifice a little offensive ability to do it. ( its not like gagners an offensive dynamo anyway)

Sammys gotta be the guy to go

Not a chance.
Not even close.
They can keep him and his contract.

This was mentioned in the Leafs thread, just curious how Oilers would feel about it.

Let's say hypothetically the rumors are that Schultz is wanting to play with his best buddy Gardiner. But the Oil reallllly wants Schultz. So in order to get Schultz you need Gardiner.

Would Gardiner + Schultz be enough to pry the 1st overall? If not, what would be needed?

The one downfall for Reinhart is his skating. He has improved this season to make himself an adequate skater but will always have struggles with speedy forwards. He will continually have to work on his skating to stay at a level needed for the NHL but his hockey sense makes up for a lot of what he lacks in speed.

As a quasi side note, the Kings aren't actually that big... the media seems obssed with size, so they are pretending the Kings are this huge team.

Heres the wieghts of a handful of their top 9:

204
199
194
199
191

The only guys in the top 9 that really have impressive size are Penner and Kopitar..... and you know how Oiler fans think Penner plays like a 190 pounder.

There players use there size though. They are strong mature bodies. Big difference compared to the boys we have. Even Penner he might not hit, but he's hard to knock of that rubber disk.

They might use it, but it doesn't mean they are actually big which is what the media wants to push.

And 2-3 years from now, the boys we have will be mature bodies.
