I don't mind the idea of getting Bobby Lu cheap and love getting Schultz for nothing ...
And I LOVE the idea of moving #5 for a top center ....
Any chance of getting Getzlaf with that pick ? And what more would it cost ? |

I think there absolutely is a chance the Leafs could get Getzlaf with the pick. The Ducks are at a crossroads, and they need to decide if it's time to go full rebuild. They have some quality kids, and a 6th overall pick to work with. Adding the 5th overall pick too and perhaps a defenseman (what rhymes with Luke Schenn) would fast track the rebuild. |

1. Isn't Lars Eller the beast of a # 1 centre the Habs needed?
2. the Sens prospects are pretty awesome ! B.Murray says he wants to add a 25-goal scorer
on RW that means Semin or Kostitsyn and I just don't see either fitting into Ottawa's lineup. The other options are old grey-beards or David Jones but not sure if Jones qualifies as a 25-goal scorer
Are you sure the Oilers will pick Yakupov ?

If we are dumb enough to trade for Luongo, then we might as well trade the top pick as well. I honestly think Burke is smart enough not to trade for 10 years of Lou, but desperate men make dumb ass decisions. |

I have a feeling after seeing Hemsky play with Krejci at the worlds he could be headed there for the 20th pick. They need help on the wing with Horton's future uncertain. |

Sweet ... My opinion of getting Bobby Lu really depends on what it costs .
Any idea what that would be Richard ? |

habs are set on d unless markov gets hurt again( they also have tinordi, beaulieu ellis who are 1-2 years away from the nhl). they just have to trade/send to minor gomez, kaberle and bourque(to expensive for 3/4 line). then draft a big top6 forward or use plekanec, desharnai or make a package and trade for such a forward(stall would be ideal lol) |

If Getzlaf is available and the Sabres trade Sekera for the 14th that gives us 3 1st round picks and 5 in the top 60. Wouldnt that be more attractive to the Ducks than just one pik from TO? |

It will cost more than Komisarek and a 5th or 6th rounder to get Luongo. I stand by the notions the Canucks wont give Luongo away for free.
As mentioned in previous discussion, it would maybe look like:
Fransen or Gardiner + Armstrong or Komisarek + a 2nd rounder.
For
Luongo
Gillis may not have alot of GM's interested in Luongo, but there will be more than just the Leaf's trying to get him draft day. If the Leaf's get him, it will cost a roster player of value and a bad contract back. |

If I were any GM, I would be trying to bank picks for 2013 draft as its going to be a stronger one.
The talent this year has been described as a weak year, and after the top 10 in the first round, it really trails off. |

Isles will certaintly not take the risk to trade the 4th for potentially only one year of Enstrom. We do need a top 4 dman, but not at tge risk that Enstrom may flee after one year. |

Gomez has a no movement clause so demotion won't work. You may want Kabs for the Powerplay. I think you should give Bourque a full season to see if he can be a power forward the Habs need. He should be on the second line to see what he can do |

Gomez has a limited NTC.....Habs can send him to Hamilton if they want. NTC (can list three teams he will not accept a trade to)

I stand corrected. What 3 teams in Kazakhstan will take him? |

Couldn't you get at starting D at that pick being this draft has so many defensemen? |

No one will touch him with a 10' pool, he is heading to Hamilton unless the next CBA has a buyout window with no cap hit. |

Given Buffalo's depth on defense, I think theyd jump at the chance to move Sekera for another 1st |

I like him, his speed is awesome but he needs a change of scenery... I would like a late 2nd or early 3rd for his rights and that could be conditional on a resign. I'm not sure if that's fair market value though. |

If that's what they're looking for then get ready for an offer sheet for Schneider. The guy asked for a trade and has a horrible contract and is 33 years old. |

Habs have the money to buy him out, they just don't want the cap hit. What ever money they pay to get him out, that's money they don't share as part of the revenue sharing at the end of the year. |

Fine by me as long as we can turn it into a 1st line center and a scoring/power forward type for the 3rd line |
