he is pricing himself out of Edm plans
Something, something, something about Sutton & Belanger each being overpaid $1,000,000 per season for thier role. - Seldom Beaton
Add to the fact that they make < 2mil/yr and to reduce it by 1mil and then they make < league minimum...me thinks you are full of sh!t....

A: Ek knows nothing
B: Who cares if Smytty goes there...he is pricing himself out of Edm plans
C: why the fuk are you a season ticket holder? - OilHorse
A) I know just found it funny
B) I do not care either but found it interesting as many are saying Smyth stays here and want himt to stay here even to the point saying that we owe Smyth... I have been one that thinks the man is out of gas and does not have much left in the tank... Love the guy but his time is running out for this team...
C) Interesting you ask that... A few years ago before I knew anything about this site I went to sign up and filled out the information and naturally gave my visa etc... thinking for 1 year I would do it... Eklund has this auto renew billing so for some reason these last 2 years I got billed for it and I just have not bothered to cancel it... strangely enough I know the site is mostly BS but I get a bit of entertainment out of it... esp all the different opinions and trolls etc... and at least I do not have the (frank)ing ads come up after every page by being a ticket holder... but that is hardly worth the $20.... Thanks for reminding me I will cancel that poopty auto renewal... |

We should sign Brandon Prust. Physical, great character, Pker, played up and down the lineup this year for the blue shirts. |

There is alot of hate on for Tambo getting this extension on TSN... its kind of amazing... I know he never did alot but he was not given alot to work with and he did have a huge mess and still has a mess that KLowe left to clean... |

I'd assume he'd want a few years at around 1.5mil. Probably someone that ends up on the 4th line, but a good player.
As a side note I see the Rags are like LA and the stats guy gives hits for everything. |

He's been lucky he's never really done anything since being here, but that's kinda what had to be done. |

Hall well eventually. Might not be like Brown crushing everyone, but once he gets size I can really see him playing a similar game to a Nash.
This is the problem with bringing in 18 and 19 year olds into the NHL. RNH I don't think will ever play big, but PRV and Yak I think along with Hall will eventually be guys that you don't worry about their size. - Lahey
Don't know about that, we've all seen - in small amounts - Hall get pissed and crush someone along the boards.
I think he'll continue to harness it and may be quite the bruiser in his own right. |

The pro scouts really need to be changed up or at least add some new blood. Our euro pro scouts did quite well last year, but the North American ones have been poop for years. |

Didn't they do that not too long ago?
I see your point though. Seems like most of our best prospects are euros. |

I don't know. Maybe they are finally going to tell Semenko that he is fired? I can see why they want a new location for an arena, so he can't find KLowe and pop his head off. |

Was on this train for awhile but I dunno anymore man.
Last years threepeat at the bottom was pretty unacceptable.
Especially with the coaches around him taking the fall, and the relatively useless moves made. Was last the plan again?
Its a process and i get it, so im ok with giving him next year to get us competing for a playoff spot right till the end. To make Some real moves and acquisitions that actually make an impact.
Not just banking on the next lottery pick....
And a multi year extension now??
Wtf? |

Considering they didn't start the rebuild until two years ago I don't know what you expected. There GF-GA ratio was a lot better, there PP was awesome and their PK was decent. People don't realize just how bad this team was.
This is the year that he needs to make improvements in the standings. |

Thing is Belanger was not signed to come in and be 4C. He fell to that because even Horc out produced him and Nuge+ Gags are definitely more talented. So while yes there may be some teams that have a 4C that is paid less it is not like he is outrageously paid.
Sutton is in the same boat in a way. May he be over paid? Maybe. But not like the poster said, over paid by 1 mil.
Edm is still getting over the stigma of being a poor place to play. they will need to pay more to get people there. They are showing their willingness to pass out the dough and if I remember right Sutton also wanted to stay even though the Oil had people apparently willing to trade for him at TDL. Plus from my understanding he is a good teammate.
this team is gathering a bunch of guys that are making the room a better place. Schultz was loved by his mates in Minny. Whitney, Ebs, Hall and Gags are all good friends. Sutton as i said is supposed to be a good guy in the room. To keep a good atmophere in the room will cost some money right now and will pay dividends later.

No to your deal, but I'd love to get Dubi, DZ, Boyle, and a couple other of your guys somehow |

This was the reason why I think that Renney should have been given an extension also. 2 years. In the first 2 years they gathered the talent and made definite improvements, let the coaching staff ride it a little longer.
There is no cover for Tambi/Lowe now. If this team regresses they take the brunt of it. |

Yeah that must be it. I just didnt get it. Seeing as im such a glass is half full type fan already!!??
12th in the west was my hope, and attainable with a few of the garbage teams like anaheim and minnesota that finished ahead of us.
Anyway, top ten in the west this year or he should be axed.
And That finish wont happen with this team unless he makes some power moves.
Even with furthur steps taken by the kids.
We'll see... |

They could do nothing this year other than draft Yak and the team will more than likely progress. |
