I see your logic here. I haven't read any of the comments, but it seems like the kind of deal both teams' fans will hate because they're each giving up something they don't want to give up. Funny thing about that... if other teams were interested in the players their fans want to trade, they'd have traded them by now!
2)Getzlaf for Schenn and 1.5 1st rounders
Burkie read that and shot in his shorts! His fans read it and said "NFW is he dealing 2 #1s again!"
3)Yaks for #4, Strome and de Haan
Damn, sucka... I've said a lot that I wouldn't deal Yaks for numerous lesser players, but I'm tempted! I'm sure Isles fans hate this deal, but honestly I'm not sure if I'd do it. We can always deal one or our glass cannons later straight up for an all-star d-man of their generation. Still, that move would do a lot for our organizational depth, and Cup winners need that in spades.
4)Calgary's whole team (except Glencross) for Connoly, Aule and the #10 overall.
Here's another GM rushing awkwardly off to change his shorts. Hell, most Lightning fans are already celebrating being real contenders next playoffs! Can't say how strongly I think the Lightning win this one. IMO Calgary totally needs to wake up and smell the failure but this needs to be done in 2 different deals, each one bringing in 2 or 3 quality assets or picks.
5)Luongo for JVR and Bryzgalov
God help Vancouver!
6)Nash for Green and #s 11 and 16
Almost a win-win... Green has injury issues, and Columbus would need him far, far too badly to take the chance that he ends up like Whitney. It's gonna be dark days in Columbus if they can't get at least one excellent known asset and two blue-chip prospects for Nash, and I just don't see Green as a known commodity right now and my magic 8 ball doesn't ever do my armchair GMing for me!
7)Clowe for Lehner and Stone
Seems reasonable enough to me that I almost think there's something I'm not considering!

The Leaf trade is fair value, but one I hope Burke doesnt make. Stay at 5 and draft a center.

The EDM/NYI trade is just silly. The 4th+Strome is a massive overpayment by itself, dont need to throw in De haan as well. Again, Yakupov is the clear #1 choice in this draft, but in no way is he miles ahead of the guy who will be there at 4.

These "Trade Wars" Cloutier and Yost put together are fine in theory (this is a rumour site after all), but I think they are useless blogs just to get hits. About 90% of them are unrealistic and seem to be made up just to piss the fans off of the particular teams involved. Come to think of it, most of the Cloutier/Yost "team up" blogs are not all that fantastic. Would much rather have them stick to doing their own thing. But whatever, not much to write about during one of the most boring playoffs ever.

Depends, if the Devils resign Salvador, I would contemplate that deal. I think it's overpayment for an unproven commodity. I am one of the people that really undervalue prospects, and I'd much rather quantity over quality. In that trade, EDM gets the quantity advantage.
