Nash is a rare type of player, so teams will have to pay to get him. - Leafs43
That's true, but so was Heatley and it didn't exactly cost that much. |

You mean when he was in Atlanta? After that he sure wasn't anything special. He can't skate, he doesn't know what the word defense even means and he is a complete and total douche canoe. |

Because of injury. He was a top rated prospect. Did well in Anaheim got traded to a poop hole city and went down hill. - lightz39
Great point. He did go downhill once he was traded to philly |

Burke's mind is quite unique.
Although Slats offered lots too. The question becomes now that the dust has settled what do these GM's think?
Kinda odd that Howson said no. Sure Reimer is better, but is that the deal breaker? - Lahey
If im Columbus im looking for one great prospect. The rumored deal didnt offer that. Although Howson probably could have flipped Lupul for a first+.
As far as Reimer being the deal breaker, thats what I heard. |

I think Nash is being a little more cooperative. He never actually said publically he wanted a trade ( Unless iam mistaken). Howson made the dumbass mistake of telling the world himself. |

I like connelly. But I'd rather not pull an edmonton and rely on lottery picks for 5 years to build a team.
Trading Kipper/Iggy for that return is not enough. They'd be without a Starting Goalie, and without a 1st line RW. And Still without a 1st line C (which with that trade would end up being Mackinon). Add in a proven top 2 player and that deal would happen. But I don't think there's any one in TB that would fit in that trade.

Reimer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gustavsson. So swapping goalies would have made a big difference. Columbus needed a goalie to play games. Gus couldn't have. I would have done that deal with Reimer. Scrivens is better. |

This is a possibility. No idea, just remember Howson's press conference on TDD |

So you want the Sens to trade 2 of their top prospects for a guy who will be a UFA in 1 season...never going to hapen, why put in a condition on the leafs trade but none on the sens when its the same situation |
|
|

Interesting.
Rejected only trade right off of the bat, and it probably isn't the one you're thinking.

If I'm Howson, i'm telling all interested teams to send there offers in and go from there. Maybe there is a team that would trade him an equal established player or maybe 2 guys that are good players, but have potential to be very good? |

You dont think Lupul could have got a first + at the deadline? I do. He was having a great season. - Leafs43
One great season in a career that has been sub par to date. GM's not named Snow or Burke generally don't make those kinds of trades based on one good year 10 years into his pro career. Also they probably recognize his good year is based on his chemistry with kessel and wouldnt necessarily transfer over to another team. Toronto would be stupid to trade him anyways being that him and phil "the vessel" kessel played so well together. |

He easily would have gotten 1st + last years deadline. Weak draft. People were offering 1st round picks for Grabovski and MacArthur. Lupul straight up was our best player last year. By a long shot. |

So Gagner and a top 5 for 6th this year? Schultz is coming to T.O. |

When a team is thinking short term at the trade deadline, one good season is all it takes. We got a second for Dominique Moore, who was basically non existant before that year. |
