No they moved to winnipeg remember??? you said lupul was your best player last year straight up, and he played for the leafs but your profile says Atlanta Thrashers. Oh i see, put up thrashers so you can pick and chose whatever team ya want to at a given time without fear of being harassed for stating you cheer for one team and sticking with them. Very clever what you have done there.

Interesting.

Rejected only trade right off of the bat, and it probably isn't the one you're thinking.

CLIFFHANGER.

If you accept the Clowe trade .... well there isnt much I can do.

Not bad.

except Schenn and 2 firsts is a bit much for Getzlaf.

The 5th over-all and Schenn is plenty for Getz.

Nah I was just making fun of the 3 fans in the world that like the Thrashers. I'm an idiot and have been a leaf lifer.

Marchand hasn't played center in the NHL. He is a LW.

Yet its not enough for Yakupov? Getzlaf is a top 5 center in the league.

Not quite, got to give a little more. Carter was worth Voracek and the 7th overall. Carter is the lesser player in my opinion. Voracek=/> Schenn. So a conditional first would suffice.

Not after this past season, he HAS to be better this year in order to be in the discussion.

Their entire team sucked bumholes this season. He would have a good year feeding Kessel and Lupul.

Schenn and Voracek is a wash imo.

And the 5th overall>>>7th overall

Maybe throw in a 2nd rounder in this years draft.

Schenn+5th+2nd rounder for Getzlaf.

Getzlaf >>>>>>> Carter. Thus we need to add more.

Carter actually had a better year before he was traded, compared to Getzlaf this season.

I am not quite sure if Kessel/Lupul are better than Perry/Ryan.

Wait, yes I am they are not. If you watched the Ducks play this year you could see Getzlaf was the main reason why they sucked. I really like him too, but he was really off his game for some reason.

They seemed to lack chemistry.

But, I think it's safe to assume that Getzlaf would work well with Kessel and Lupul.

Yet both players had fewer points. Its not Getzlafs job to get them goals. They have to be able to finish as well. They all played like poop because their goalie played like poop. No one had confidence and worried about things other than what they need to. IMO.

Adding to this:

Getzlaf/Perry were murdered by the percentages(and, in Perry's case, expected regression). poopty on-ice save percentage, poopty shooting percentage -- individually, and as a team when on the ice.

The killer part was really Getzlaf. His career shot percentage is about 12%, and he was coming off of a season where he benefited from some bounces. Nineteen goals, 16% shooter overall. His assist numbers were through the roof thanks to Perry/Ryan/Whoever burying most of their chances.

This year? He dropped to 5%. Seriously, from 16% to 5%. That's (frank)ing beyond inexplicable. Nikolai Kulemin thinks that's brutal. With his offense limited and Perry's offense naturally regressing -- well, disaster.

Getzlaf better bring it back up next year. I'm hopeful he can.

My point is if it didnt work with the guy he helped win the HART TROPHY the year before it wasnt likely to work with anyone last year.

That said, if he is available Burkie should be all over that. Whether he has chemistry with Phil or not it fills one of 2 major holes on the Leafs with the other being goaltending.

If the Leafs could get Getzlaf and Luongo and only give up Schenn off their roster I would say the playoffs are a safe bet. Unfortunately they will give up big future assets in the process.

At the end of the day Getzlaf is a premier setup man, big body and is exactly what you want for the playoffs. He would instantly make Kessel better. Two big bodies banging and crashing giving him breathing room. Notice how Kessel disappeared when Lupul got hurt?

Its a confidence thing. When your team is playing like poop, you naturally will end up playing like poop. Snow ball. You try and do other things that you normally wouldn't. Like play goalie for your poopty goalie because you have no faith he will stop anything shot at him. Etc...

Roomie,

I hate Calgary as much as the next guy but C'mon, they could get that return from Tampa for Kipper alone. Let me know whenever you are selling anything because you are clearly the worst negotiater of all time. Milbury would be crushing you out. Aim High and settle in the middle. No need to thank me for changing your life.

Love,
