Kane for Hamilton/Marchand

Not exactly a bad deal for the Bruins in this case. I'd still say that Timmy Thomas could be part of this, whether he plays next year or not

Getzlaf to leafs = Schenn, 5th and cond.

I'd say both teams lose this deal. ANA gets left exposed deeply up the middle, and the Leafs lose a what amounts to a young Dman and 2 1st round picks(because of course they'd resign him.)

If I were to make a counter offer then it would be

Getzlaf
Hillar
Schultz
________

Grabs
Mac
Komi
Kadri
Reimer
2013 1st
2012 2nd

Oilers 1st for 4th, Strome and De Haan

This is a terrible deal for the Isle. They are essentially giving up the guy they drafted 5th overall last year and a guy they drafted at a position they needed a few years eariler(De Haan, also in the first round) to move up 3 spots in this draft. If the Isle can still select Murray at 4, then they leave this draft very happy

Mikka/Jarome to the Lightning

So the idea is that Aulie ends up back with the team that drafted him...Ok ok, but the specifics of this deal aren't totally bogus. It is true that the value of these assets has declined, and that if a package similar to this could arise, then they'd have to seriously consider it. If I were CGY, I'd demand a conditional 1st next year if the Bolts make it to round 3. Other than that, I like this deal

Luongo to PHI

No comment, this simply isn't worth thinking about. PHI may have goalie problems, but they won't have Chris Pronger in any capacity anytime soon, so they seriously need to look at that position going forward. Whether that involves moving JVR remains to be seen.

As for Bryz, they signed him for a decade, they might as well give him more than 1 year to adjust to life in a market that actually cares about hockey.

Nash for Green and 2 firsts

I actually think this deal is fair for both sides. It will be a while before WSH has any money tied up in a goalie, so as long as Alzner and Carlson are kept around, they're in decent shape. Semin no longer being on the books makes this somewhat feasible.

Lehnar and Stone to SJ for Clowe

Terrible deal for Ottawa. You've underestimated how good Lehnar will be. He's their goalie of the future and there's no reason to let him go when he's essentially guaranteed the job once Andersson packs up.

Ottawa is on their way up, they have no reason to rock the boat.

Schenn isn't good enough for a str8 up deal. Besides the Leafs are sending at least Komisarek's contract the other way. It will most likely be a multi-player deal
- Mathwil3

Exactly. Komisarek will for sure be in the deal if Luongo gets traded there

Any major deal involving the Leafs will mean Komisarek's contract goes the other way.

It's simply a case of economics, they don't have the cap room NOT to move Komi.

Plus the term on the deal Lu has means that they are in a position to throw money back the other way

I really thought Richard would of made better Trade offers than this. I hope Yost turns them all down and he makes a new first 7 trade offers.

Why would he not agree to go to a playoff team.

Whatever the Canucks are getting, it's never going to be a "great" deal. They'll get a lot less than what some people expect...

False. The Getzlaf trade is an overpayment on Toronto's side. That is most likley the equivalent of 3 top 5 picks...
- wendel13

Just because a guy is picked in the top 5 (in this case, Schenn) doesn't automatically mean he's the equivalent of a top 5 pick years later. This is a common error.

What about Luke Schenn and the fifth overall pick in exchange for Edmonton's first overall pick?
- _Zippy_

For the last time..It will have to be a huge overpayment for the first. Take Schenn out as he adds no improvement. I know Toronto will say he will be stud and a future allstar. All i have seen from is a bum and belongs in the AHL. Not much there we would want besides Gardiner.

Did you see the deal I 'made' in Cordell's blog?

When it comes down to it, Edmonton could use a few NHL d-men, and with some picks going each way, it could wind up working out with Paajarvi.

- _Zippy_

They could use some D, but they have time. Still a rebuilding team. Volchenkov is an average defenseman that is getting big money. Not attractive to anyone. If anything he has negative value and is probably our worst contract. Tallinder could possibly be worked in a deal.

Huet at his best (you can't argue he wasn't "elite" at the time) fetched a 2nd rounder. Nuck fans are going to be upset with what they get back.

Congratulations. This is unquestionably the dumbest post I've ever seen on HB

Cloutier, you're such a Richard. Your Flames trade is looking like TB is looking for a "buy 1 get a 2nd half price deal. Diminished or not, these players are worth more than that; at least the addition of their 2nd 1st rounder from DET. Sell them separately and they are worth more to contending clubs.

[quote=OilerFanFromBC]

I'm not one of those expecting a high first or great prospect, but the whole point of trading Luongo is to get rid of a bad long-term contract and so that Schneider can take over as the number one goalie. Trading for Bryzgalov(a lesser goalie with just as bad of a contract) doesn't help, it makes things worse.

A horrible proposal(not that I'm shocked).

Not a big surprise that the Canuck and Flames deals are a joke. Just ruins the whole concept of this.

I laughed so hard at #2. Basically, the Ducks would deal a star centreman for a mediocre defensemen and two picks which they could use to pray they get a player like Getzlaf.

The Sharks deal is retarded too. We'd give up Clowe for a goalie prospect (which we have millions of) and a slower, pooptier version of Clowe

I know Cloutier loves trolling, and I can never tell if his blogs are meant to be serious or not (as in, I'm never quite sure if he is actually stupid or whether he just pretends to be to piss people off) but good lord these are laughable.

The only ones that seem somewhat reasonable are no. 3 and 6.
