Needs a year in the AHL. Another season in Europe wont kill him, but the sooner he gets his butt over here and gets to playing on NA ice, the better.

I would like to see him in another world junior tournament. With Granlund likely gone, Armia will probably be Finland's captain and go to guy and that could say a lot about his character if he succeeds/fails.

Pominville has been the sabres most consistant player for the past 3 years he doesn't put up huge ndera but put up 80 this year plays 5on5 pk pp good in the shootout does he put up 5 million dollar numbers no but he was given that contract it seems all sabre fans judge their players by their contracts. Pommer is a solid player really responded well to the captaincy maybe he's not the most vocal guy but he leads by example with his on ice production, one of the most underrated players in the NHL he's the last one of the core I'd move. Just like vanek gets a bad rap cause he makes 6 million and doesn't score 50 goals a year he consistently scores 30-35 goals a year as for the contract thank kevin Lowe for that one

If he was really that good, some other team would at least attempt something to pry him from Germany.

How did he respond well to the captaincy? The captain is supposed to lead by example. Yes, he put up consistent points, but the biggest issue with the team was their tendency to be soft. That is exact reflection of the captain. Not sure what you mean by he repsonded well. The team sucked for a long stretch, and although he put up points, what exactly did he do to lead the team out of their funk?

I'll let Yost take it....

[BUF 2] Forget the Population of Pominville, Rick Jeanneret -- let's talk about how Lindy Ruff was abusing this guy against high-quality competition. Only Tomas Plekanec saw tougher relative shifts, and Pominville still managed to run-off a thirty-goal, forty-three assist season in a healthy eighty-two game season. I'm not sure Pominville's earned the proper amount of praise for his campaign last year, and if he posts similar splits in 2012-2013, the Buffalo Sabres are going to be a serious threat. What a year.

he has one more year left on his 3 year deal

and he had 9 points in 7 games for germany for the tourney the past month
germany only had 14 goals in the tourney

The statement was he was playing well for germany

guess it is easier for you knuckle heads to pile on a legit post then do a little research
