I dont even understand why subban is in the pic, its like the top 5 prospects and then a goalie who is projected to go late first/second round. Some scouts dont even have him as the top goalie prospect.
- ALEDDO

Because his brother is famous, nothing more. Sometimes they like to throw a local guy in there. Last year they brought in Seth Ambroz, a 5th rounder, to hang with the prospects, and in 2010 they had Emerson Etem, who went 29th that year.

That looks good on paper... Lots of ifs there... If we can get 75 games out of Hall that would definitely help... I saw a golf charity photo with the nuge in it... (frank)ing kid looks like he lost weight... Geez you would think he would be devouring chicken wings and protein so he does not hurt himself on the ice again... I am concerned about that kid... Hall's wrecklessness- we could really get killed if we do not add some beef on this team soon...

Theres only a few of us on this boat man. It seems alot of guys forgot those games against dallas, colorado etc. We were pushed around and taken advantage of physically. They were tough games to watch.

Get into a run and gun, skating game with us, and we're good to go.
Slow it down, bang, and use your size..we found ourselves in trouble.

I will say however that coaching may have made a difference. It seemed renney had no answer for this strategy

I don't know if adding beef isn't going to suddenly make Hall less reckless, or Nugent-Hopkins gain weight. Speaking of which, RNH needs to address his leg strength and core strength more than just gain weight.
- Jack-artist

Well you do not get stronger if you are not increasing your muscle mass...
Hall just needs to take a few less risks- and if he gained some weight I would be happy with that too... I guess what I am trying to say is we need MPS to really play with an edge and go balls out so we have more size in the top 6 or we need to trade for Chris Stewart!

Cause eating chicken wings is a sure fire way to prevent injury.

First it is a sad thought that Khabby would be anyone's mentor.

Unfortunately I agree the only possible loss of pick one might be to Toronto but I think Burke is too arogant to pay what Edmonton wants. He may be cavalier about his picks but I don't think he cares much for giving up anyone if it is not to get a goalie.

Which brings me to Luongo. His contract is not terrible considering the Oiler's options. Might have to jump on that grenade if we plan on getting out of lottery positions.

I don't know why everyone hates Gagner. The guy is still young and is just now playing on a decent team. We haven't seen what he can do yet. I think he is worth the 6th pick on his own but that is just me.

In terms of Oilers dmen. I don't see the draft helping us. We have prospects. Lots of them. They are actually developing well but they develop slower. We need veterans but the way to get that is to sign or trade for them. We have to win and to do that we need to improve our goalie and forwards and play the kids we got. No d prospects signed late in round one or early round 2 are going to be ready to play when out top 6 are ready for their run. Its good to have another group coming through but we need to someday add dmen that another team has developed or hope the ones we already have turn out. Drafting time is done for them and goalies.

We have to be prepared to look at offer sheets this year. For a goalie or a dman. Its not a cool thing to do but don't think it won't happen to us.

Looks like Pilgor is trying to steel Yakupov's wallet or trying to put one of his fingers in the stink.

Exactly, we looked great at the first 30 game stretch but once teams configured a strategy to just crash and bang the kids - it led to either injuries or took the kids out of the game... I guess we really never had 2 lines that could score though and this is what Yaks should bring... a second potent scoring line... I hope anyway... but yeah if not we are going to have another long season.... unless we get a Tootoo and mix up the lines for teams that want to try this... You know throw in Eager or Tootoo in the top 6 occasionally to keep things straight...OR maybe MPS becomes possessed and plays with more of an edge...who knows... just food for thought IMO...

You realize that they're from the same draft class and Turris hasn't exactly shown that he will ever live up to his "potential"
- Starbuck

I very much do realize this. But Schenn and Schultz are from the same draft. Schenn has 4 years experience in the NHL, Schultz has never played a game, but who would you rather have? Im willing to bet Schultz, because he has more potential.

Whether its fair or not, young players are judged on what they can potentially do just as much as what they have done.

I think we're destined to draft Malcolm Subban, the resemblance to Grant Fuhr is uncanny.
