So in other words the hoochies you went to school with struck out while trying to land some NHL cock and are butthurt about it. - Starbuck

Puts him in the top 40 point producing centers.
Seems little better than average 2nd line C - robin_steele264
you can't sweep his inconsistancy under the rug... the 8 point night is relevent. take that out and he falls way down the list. my point is that fans are content with an average 2nd center. question for everyone. what potential stanley cup contending teams would gagner be the number 2 center on? |

Or crappy 1st liner like Bozak. - robin_steele264
i didnt say bozak was good though... im not claiming hes a first line centre... im not happy with him being there... ive always said he be an average-decent 3rd cuz of his faceoffs and his defensive play isnt bad... develop him as a penalty killer... im just trying to throw out facts and make a reasonable argument... so far ive gotten gay bath houses and shots at my team as a response... your play |

You expect me to believe Hall, Eberle, RNH and Gagner has a bad rep in Edmonton - Starbuck
theres a reason a good portion of fans want gagner to leave... the other 3 produce so they can get away with it... gagner hasnt lived up to the cities expectations so they call for his head... its not that hard to figure out |

The gay bath house thing was hyperbole just like your drunk party boy thing. |

While it's nice to see what the rest of the league thinks of your team's players every once and while, I tire of reading about how Sam Gagner has maxed out and isn't a top six forward. I for one vote that Sam Gagner and his status not be mentioned in any HB discussion thread until at least the mid-point of the next season of regular play (whether that be 2012-13 or 2013-14). This is getting ridiculous.
Sam Gagner is a top-6 forward no matter what his size. His size is only mentioned on this board because we the fans of the Oilers would rather have a larger center behind Nuge to give/take the beatings. Are Pavel Datsyuk, Joe Pavelski, Mike Richards, Matt Duchene, and Stephen Weiss too small for the top-six roles they fill? No. Being in the top-six of an NHL team has far more to do with skill and consistency than anything else. Gagner has one of those in spades and, at 22, is still developing the other.
If you'd like to continue this argument, please, for the sake of everyone else here, send it via e-mail or a private message. - MaximumBone
Statement would have been ok if you had stopped after the first paragraph. you just ensured that people like me will continue to make an effort to present reality to all who will listen |

In the really real world you can't ignore facts to support your opinion of Gagner. |

mines not a hyperbole... go ask any 25 and under person in edmonton how many times theyve seen the young oiler players excessively drunk at the bar... and yours isnt a hyperbole either... to be a hyperbole it has to exaggerate an actual fact... |

He's a 50 point center.
That's valuable in the NHL.
Im happy to keep him and let him continue to grow. |

A small handful of people wouldn't mind seeing Gagner dealt, because he is an asset of value that could be used to obtain help on the blueline. |

neither can you... we both gave credit for his 8 point game... our point is that it cant be expected to happen every year so to think that that blip in the pattern is some sort of sign of a break out season next year is ridiculous |

Just a thought for you guys.... what if you traded your 1st rounder 2013, MPS, Anton Lander, omark for columbus first rounder 2012...
Eberle Nuge Hall
Gagne Galchenyuk Yakopov
Smyth Horcoff Hemsky
Jones ______ Eager - Mapleleafs_91
If we could draft Galy as well as Yaks I would say bye bye to Gags and keep MPS... |

Mine was based on fact, I exaggerated the orgy part.
I have many friends 25 and under who live and party on a nightly basis in Edmonton. The only Oiler who has been mentioned as being a douche is Hall and it was only because the girl I know struck out with him. |

That 8 point game doesn't have a big effect on it.

I am against EDM for trading the 1st pick as it gets closer to the draft. Drafting Yakupov essentially makes Hemsky expendable. Yakupov vs Hemsky...hmmm...you pick who you rather have on the team. Trade Hemsky to BOS for their 1st overall pick and maybe plus another asset. One BOS fan mentioned Hemsky for 1st pick plus Caron...I wish.
Gagner isn't going anywhere for a another 1st round pick. Not yet in my eyes. I rather see EDM package the pick from BOS after trading Hemsky along with the 2nd round pick plus another asset to move into the top 10 for a d-man. Keeping Gagner for this season would be a good idea. He's only 22. Hefty payment for top 10 pick, but got to pay to play.
Sure, trade Belanger, Bulin, and Omark for peanuts please. Let Smyth go, not gonna cry nor will he. No to Stoll as he is gonna go for the winner winner chicken dinner deal after his success during the playoffs.
The bottom 6 needs some good attention and I would sign Moen as 3LW, Eager stays as 4LW, sign Konopka as 4C or have Vandevelde there, and snag Bernier from NJD if they don't resign him. Leave Lander, PRV, and Teemu in OKC for more experience and conditioning. Forget Luongo, leave him in VAN or he goes somewhere else. For get Nash too. If EDM wins the Schultz sweepstakes, then fans can be a little more happy and just be patient. Good things will happen. |

I'm a big fan of boarding the too too train. I'd sign crazy eyes torres too, I'd even look into the whereabouts of Chris Simon: This team needs a huge mutual destruction deterent. Yeah I said Simon. - DrinkOil
Hell ya... If we signed Tootoo or if Laraques is available- one of those guys would definitely help us up from... |

Who said anything about it being a sign of a break out season? The 8 point game never inflated his usual point totals.
