Where we going to get that? Please don't say by an unproven guy who play 2 games last year. Better of trading for one. - yea-ok-buddy

I want Galchenyuk but if Murray is available at #3, I think it will be very hard for the Habs to pass |

So lots to talk about tonight.
On one hand, Harding resigns, so it really boils down to Lu or sticking with what we have for next season.
Also, TSN's mock draft pegged 2 defencemen going in the top 4. Now I'm not convinced that it will necessarily pan out that way, as I doubt Forsberg ends up being available at no. 5. However, if we end up getting Filip, then I'd be very content.
One thing I wasn't surprised at was their pick that Galy would be taken by MTL. I think they need a player like him as much as we do |

Good to know but I wasn't trying to guess what you would do. Burke still GM and I was speculating on what he might do and I think he could try to package the pick to get someone like Getzlaf or Staal. - Canada Cup
Great if Burke is Bright he'll do the same thing as me ....
or he just want to save his ass he'll sell the farm for an overpay bad fix-up that probably won't work and put us 3-4 years back again |

I agree and have been saying it for months. I keep getting told, trade down, grab the best available at 5, trade the pick for an established player like Jordan Staal. It's better to trade up, it's cheaper than trying to trade for one and you get the three year rookie salary cap exemption. What's not to like about trading up, if it can be done for a roster player or prospect? - PrinceLH
Respect at least someone understant how you build a cup winner |

Schenn has been developed and treated very poorly in my opinion, he will still be a very solid top 4 shut down defensemen IMO
Gunnars a fringe but solid top 4, very reliable
Liles... meh, he's okay but overpaid
The possibility of Schultz coming is enticing
Blacker seems to be developing nicely and i think Percy will be a good one as well
Not 'terrible', not 'amazing' either, but good |

Yeah missing that big point getting center for the last 20 years seems to have gone unnoticed in the habs tardinization. |

Him and Kessel would be the stars of the team.
The amount of value he would add to the leafs would be immense. His 5.5 mill contract is a non factor if you consider how much added revenue a playoff round in Toronto would add.
Expectations will be lower in Toronto and he will return to his hart/vezina trophy form.
Loungo is not a "salary dump" and goalies of his caliber rarely become available. He's an Allstar goalie who's won everything but a cup.
You know what the gm's say......the winner of a trade Is the recipient of the best player......and Kessel aside Luongo is better than anyone on the leafs roster - jakenewton
Well said, brought a tear to my eye. |

the Habs need to draft by need, not by best player available, unless they can work out some kind of trade. they need a stud forward. |

you mean, in the center of the hockey universe? - gravyface
In Vancouver he wins the presidents trophy 2 years in a row, sets a franchise record for wins, plays lights out for three rounds against Chicago, preds and sharks then losses in game 7 after a couple bad games and he gets viewed as choker.
If he doesn't win a cup he will get lynched
In Toronto all he has to do is just has to steal a few games and make the playoffs and there will be party's in the streets.
expectations/pressure isnt quite as high in toronto. |
