Finally.....a new blog...thanks Mikey!!
Reimer and Scrivens is fine, from this end of Lake Ontario. We don't need another has been hero. Lets draft another goaltender in round 2 of the playoffs and just work through this season. If we play our cards right and we have another work stoppage, we'd get another top end first rounder. This team is not ready to compete this year, but the year after, they might be. |

We need a Center more than another scoring winger. Ryan is a great player, but a Parise will only cost you money not assets.... I am aware its a slim chance he signs here, but Ryan will cost a boatload for a player we dont really need as bad as a Center.
Also Backstrom would be OK in net, his 6 mil cap is high, but hes a UFA... we have to move a contract to add 6 mil |

I'm not sure how Harding is considered a viable option. Would he really be that much better than Reimer and Scrivens? The Leafs need a real goalie, not someone else's backup. |

Chuck Fletcher said he's going into next season with Backstrom/Harding, so Backstrom wont be available |

Time for a poll: Yes or no, should UG be reinstated!
Time to start a petition for the reinstatement of UG! He needs to be here at the Draft table. If he's not here, we'll ruin our pick!! Reinstate ASAP!

...it's like a train wreck. In that neck of HB.
I agree that moving a lot of assets for Ryan would be a nice upgrade, but may not be necessary if Parise doesn't resign with the Devils.
In all likelihood the big stars will resign with their clubs, so we should be focusing on building trade packages for a decent 1st in the mid to late teens |

Cloutier should be banned. He is unprofessional and a disgrace to this site. I always look at us posters as customers and he is the seller. There is no reason for him to talk to "customers" the way he does, especially Leaf fans. I know he does it for hits but instead of provoking people why doesn't he try writing something insightful for once. |

Jonathon Bernier? - I-own_da-Northwest
Apparently LA is keeping him unless they are offered an over payment for him, kind of like Vancouver and Schneider. |

QFT!
Harding, Pavelec, Lindback, seriously? That's as exciting a list of FAs as this year's group of UFA forwards...
If we want to pretty much guarantee we make the post season next year, we get Luongo; if we want to keep rebuilding and see what we have, we go with Reimer and a Scrivens/Biron.
Something tells me that it'll be the former because Burke's running out of patience (if he ever had any to start with), but he's going to ride it out as long as he can to drive down the asking price.
Personally, I want to stick with Reimer, for at least another year. He's shown a helluva lot more promise than Gus, and we gave Gus how many starts over how many years before we finally are saying goodbye? |
