Luongo would easily make any non playoff team a contendor. I still remember his first season in Vancouver where he got 47 wins. This guy can still play, and I think it will be a similar situation.

Schenn has been developed and treated very poorly in my opinion, he will still be a very solid top 4 shut down defensemen IMO
Gunnars a fringe but solid top 4, very reliable
Liles... meh, he's okay but overpaid
The possibility of Schultz coming is enticing
Blacker seems to be developing nicely and i think Percy will be a good one as well

Not 'terrible', not 'amazing' either, but good

who has treated Schenn poorly? the organization for handing him $18 million after 3 seasons? the coaches for pulling his ice time when he struggled? the fans for demanding that a 5th-overall pick develop into something more than a depth dman? not seeing where Schenn has been treated unfairly at all.

Luongo, Price, Miller and Rask in the same division would be pretty crazy

Yeah missing that big point getting center for the last 20 years seems to have gone unnoticed in the habs tardinization.

Only problem is, Galchenyuk doesn't speak French and is not a player from the Q. They may reach over for Forsberg or take Grigorenko. We can all hope he they do, anyway. If Galchenyuk is gone, I would revisit Forsberg as a possible number 5 draft. That's, of course, that Forsberg isn't taken at 2. If he's gone, then it's all up in the air.

We do have depth, but we are missing guys who can stabilize our top 4. Which I think our 3-4 guys will be good this year with a new system, but we still need that guy to pair along side phaneuf. I think Murray would be the perfect fit, and I'm not sold on Galchenyuk.

Lets just hope some of our guys progress next year.

you could dig up terry sawchuk, freeze his body in a block of ice and put that in net and it would make them better

Schenn had some of the better stats half way through the season and had his icetime dropped. He really isn't as bad as some like to think, albeit he did have some terrible, terrible giveaways in the last quarter of the year which lead directly to goals.

For a year or two maybe! He also handcuffs the team moving forward, on cap and also elevating the team up the standings. If they fall short of the playoffs by a few points, gets them an 11th or 12th pick in the draft. Without him, the Leafs sink or swim with their own goaltenders. If they flop they draft in the lottery again, it's not such a bad prize especially if the season is shortened by a work stoppage. I pass on Lou.
