In Nov, the Ducks were asking for a 2nd line C, a roster player and a prospect/draft picks for Bobby Ryan. Signed until 2014-15, 5.1M AAV

Luongo would make the leafs better, ya duh
you could dig up terry sawchuk, freeze his body in a block of ice and put that in net and it would make them better

- wingz4life

I'm sure Francois Allaire would work his magic and f/u frozen Terry Sawchuck too.

Schenn had some of the better stats half way through the season and had his icetime dropped. He really isn't as bad as some like to think, albeit he did have some terrible, terrible giveaways in the last quarter of the year which lead directly to goals.
- Leafland

the problem is that expectations for him have been justifiably high and he hasn't yet lived up to them. but i wouldn't say he's been treated unfairly.

Not sure there are many arguing that he wouldn't.

We do.. Leaf fan's are just bored

I personally just want us to move up in the draft to get Galchenyuk... no way we get him at #5...

If somehow we could grab Nail and Gal, that would be a dream.

Schenn + Gardiner + ??? for EDM 1st
TOR 5th + ??? for CBJ 1st

MAn would that be great

Cue the trash talk.

- mfreedman

i won't trash anything i keep telling we should move up to get Gally but most leafs fans tonight are losers that are Happy with Connolly and Lombardi

That's why you hope for the best and plan for the worst. Just play the goalies we have and let the chips fall where they may. If a better goalie becomes available at the trade deadline, grab him, if the price is right.

You guys see Pierre Mcquire saying how the leafs need another defensemen and should pick Morgan Reilly
- Sheppy99

McGuire has his biggest hard-ons for the WJC team.

I bet he spanks it in his little man-cave between the benches there with Healy too.

Ryan is 25, has a decent cap hit and has scored 30+ goals for 4 straight years on a one-line team. he's going to cost much, much more than a package centered on a mid-level prospect and Clarke MacArthur. he's a first-line power forward. you're going to have to give up some of the organizations top assets. because someone will.

I was worried about Colborne's decline in productivity until realizing it was because of a wrist injury.

I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up at camp and earned a spot. I'm not saying he'd blow people away, but the amount of work the guy's done to get himself ready for the pros is admirable.

Plus, I just don't like the idea of Grabs for the next 5 years. Don't get me wrong, he has been good for the last couple seasons, but I just can't imagine him living up to that billing as he heads into his early 30s. He's got his big paycheque. Along with this is his playing style, which is so erratic and on the edge that surely the guy's one slip up away from tearing his knee to shreds or getting his bell rung. Once that happens, he'll never be the same player

Who doesn't. It's like everyteam saying they want to add size to their top 6, or a puck moving dman. They don't just pop up.

Connolly and Lombo are stop gaps... in 2 years we have less than 8 players under contract... This will be the time where names like Frattin, KAdri, Blacker, Holzer, Colborne, D'amigo, Ross, etc.. will be stepping in to make an impact with the big club.

For now, those players were supposed to keep us somewhat competative and provide guidance to the rookies. Unfortunately Burke underestimated how much they suck...

I guess it is a great thing that he doesnt sign guys to more than 5 years at a time
