We do.. Leaf fan's are just bored
I personally just want us to move up in the draft to get Galchenyuk... no way we get him at #5...
If somehow we could grab Nail and Gal, that would be a dream.
Schenn + Gardiner + ??? for EDM 1st
TOR 5th + ??? for CBJ 1st
MAn would that be great
Cue the trash talk. - mfreedman
I said it earlier today, i don't really want to go after Nail and Gal, i just don't see the point. |

i won't trash anything i keep telling we should move up to get Gally but most leafs fans tonight are losers that are Happy with Connolly and Lombardi - Kuleminator
Agreed! Give them a MacArthur, Kulemin, Franson or Kadri, to make that move to number 2. Wait for free agency, grab Schultz, wait for free agency to play out, wait for all of the bridesmaids to panic and offer up Connolly, Lombardi, Komiserek and others, for draft picks or trade opportunities. These players may have some interest, because they are on the last year of their contracts and have a reason to play hard. Of course Komi is a different bird, having two years left, but he could be a credible risk, for a team needing some grit on the bottom pair of their defence. |

if i'm moving up with 2 selections in the top 3, i draft Yakupov/Galchenyuk/Forsberg and Murray. one forward to build a first line around, one stud to build a D around. |

I may be wrong, but I dont think nail is that big. Maybe gal is, im not sure. No one should trash talk, but I get where your coming from. Whoever helps, bring em on board. - Deadmau55
Nail is not big, but there is no denying his skill.
He also brings a much more complete game than a guy like Kessel does, and appears to have a really high compete level. I love that in a player.
Gal imo, is going to be the best pick of the top 5. If it wasnt for the injury I bet he would have gone 1st overall.. .Man I hope we get him. |

Two players that already have chemistry together and could step in immediately into a second line role?
Along with the fact that we will have them for 7 years guaranteed if we draft them (assuming we dont trade them)
There is a point and it would address a big need. |

Agreed, we already have a Kessel. Yakupov is another version of the same player. Galchenyuk is another case, since we need the best centre in this draft, because we need to get his development started. |

I'm convinced that moving up even a couple spots would cost an arm and a leg.
I'd be fine sitting at no. 5 and hoping that a guy like Forsberg is available at that spot.
It's hard to imagine Murray not going top 4.
Nail and Galy will probably slot into the top 3 as well, so I really think that it boils down to whether NYI wants to go for the forward, or plug that gap on the blueline that needs to be fixed |

I'll be happy getting Galchenyuk, I just think that we would be better off with Murray on our D for the future. Just my opinion, which makes me a loser who love Connolly and Lombardi. |

Yak would be a winger... Gal would be the big centre we needed.
Not understanding the question..
I think we simply need a physical two-way centre that would open up room for Kessel, that's why they say there is a need for a bigger guy.. If Kessel wasn't playing for us, then a centre wou plays all ends of the ice and puts up points would e sufficient regardless of his size imo.. Then again it's Burke, so we would probably get a big guy anyways |

Ryan is 25, has a decent cap hit and has scored 30+ goals for 4 straight years on a one-line team. he's going to cost much, much more than a package centered on a mid-level prospect and Clarke MacArthur. he's a first-line power forward. you're going to have to give up some of the organizations top assets. because someone will. - DoubleDown
I think your exactly right. All the teams that are looking for a power forward will be in on this. The same ones who are interested in Nash will first want to bid on Ryan. If Evander Kane becomes available he will go ahead of Ryan. It will take a combination of four roster player/prospects to close the deal on any of these players. My guess is Ryan was made available when Anahiem heard what Ottawa might offer for Nash. I think they are talking in Winnipeg tonight to determine if Kane is made available.

well for starters he needs to actually be a Center, which Yakupov is not |
