Naw, maybe he turns into a Sergi Gonchar.....All offence, no defence. - PrinceLH
well, the thing is, when a guy like that is one the ice, you're on offence for the most part--that's his most effective defensive weapon. and as for Gonchar, he put up some impressive numbers given that he spent a good portion of his prime in the dead-puck era. |

Depends on who's there at 5... if its Galchenyuk i think we should take him, we need top end talent. Faksa and Gaunce look to me like an excellent second and third line center respectively and we already look to have enough mid level prospects in the system. But certainly an option if the best we have at 5 is Dumba or Forsberg - ky678468
Of couse, by all means, if Gal is still there, you take him. I doubt he will be, and Forseberg just doesnt cut it for me. I want nothing to do with Dumba as this team already has 3 too many Red Deer Rebels on it. |

no need to be sorry. and yeah, its nice when you get one player, and he makes the players around him better. understood now. So then why the need for bobby ryan? - Deadmau55
We don't need him, but what we do need is something to talk about until draft day.
We're bored.. None of us had a stanley cup to keep us entertained

who has treated Schenn poorly? the organization for handing him $18 million after 3 seasons? the coaches for pulling his ice time when he struggled? the fans for demanding that a 5th-overall pick develop into something more than a depth dman? not seeing where Schenn has been treated unfairly at all. - DoubleDown
im sure he means that wilsons coaching was not conducive to schenns style of play. not to mention the 2 hands on the stick bullcrap when defending. he will thrive under carlyle im willing to put 200000 dollhairs on it |

we dont have to, Gardiner is the main reason Schultz would play here, if he's gone, so are our chances at Schultz, its not what we're giving Aneheim for Ryan, its who we're losing |

hence sign Shultz first, then trade Gardiner
serious question though - are these 2 lovers or something? Gardiner being here is a plus in helping lure him, because it's somebody he knows who can tell him about the organization. People act like they are long lost twin brothers looking to re-unite.

Not sure anybody has suggested trading Reimer. If nothing else he's likely going to be a very good backup - has the perfect mindset for it.
It's more a question of who plays with him. Reimer's the only goalie in Leafs system currently under contract for next season.
(scratch that, MArk in da Park has another year

I basically just meant why overpay for a proven starter like luongo, scrivens could be a real gem too.

Ok lets face it the canucks aren't gonna get what they want leafs won't get what they want. I thinks something like this.
Franson + Armstrong + 2nd this year + prospect
for
Luongo + raymond
Canucks get a dman with potential in franson that is big. Him and edler together could be good. Armstrong for cap and we get a good 4th liner if healthy. Then a prospect and raymond are just tosssed in you can probably take both out.
You guys don't get luongo for dirt cheap as the canucks get some useful pieces. Franson was rally good with the preds before he was dealt he and edler could compliment each other both are huge and can score. The canucks are really good at developing defenceman. Franson also played junior hockey in vancouver so it shouldn't be hard to adjust. Armstrong is a solid upgrade for our bottom 6 with pahlsson leaving. Then the 2nd is pretty decent too.
Neither team gets ripped off they both address their needs. Your welcome everybody. |

Oh ya, don't.
I'm only onboard with trading for Luongo if it's a salary dump, like Komisarek and a prospect. Hell I'd do Komi-Kadri.
But that's it. No 1st rounders, and nobody named Blacker, Frattin, Ross, McKegg, Colborne |

I just hope the habs are still smitten with Mikhail Grigorenko and take him at 3, the islanders should take a defensemen so Gal might still be there
