Ya, if your not a leaf fan. - Fakepartofme
I have no problem with Reimer. Man it really is a thin line between love and hate, especially for professional athletes. He was the "next" big goalie for the Leafs and then he has an injury plagued season and he's now a bum. I don't get it, you have written him off before his career has even begun. |

Looks like Mr.Luongo just got a little more expensive - CanuckforLife
No one is going to overpay for Luongo. If Gillis doesn't want to take a reasonable offer then he can hold onto him until he's demanding a trade a few months into the season. He'll be dirt cheap by that point. |

LOL if burke doesn't pay the price he goes into the season knowing he has to make playoffs or he will be fired with 2 unproven goalies. Don't say he won't be fired he had a 5 year plan to rebuild its the 5th year after wilson its him |

Jonathon Bernier? - I-own_da-Northwest
Is he really an upgrade over Scrivens or Reimer? I don't think so, he hasn't proven he is. |

Apparently LA is keeping him unless they are offered an over payment for him, kind of like Vancouver and Schneider. - CanuckforLife
That's good, he's got a cup ring , no need to go anywhere |

Cloutier should be banned. He is unprofessional and a disgrace to this site. I always look at us posters as customers and he is the seller. There is no reason for him to talk to "customers" the way he does, especially Leaf fans. I know he does it for hits but instead of provoking people why doesn't he try writing something insightful for once. - coolehmon41

Fair enough but have u seen any other bloggers retaliate the way he does when someone disagrees with him, which is MOST of the time. |

The canucks have 4 million in cap space enough to sign schneider, and promise him more game than luongo. We can keep both for know you guys have fun missing playoffs alright |

Every team is looking for an "overpayment" or a "salary dump" according to the media. I don't buy it, there will always be good Hockey trades made and there will always be asss rapings on deals between GM's. |

Probably because he's brutal. And he's old. I think that pretty much covers it. |

Harding, Pavelec, Lindback, seriously? That's as exciting a list of FAs as this year's group of UFA forwards...
If we want to pretty much guarantee we make the post season next year, we get Luongo; if we want to keep rebuilding and see what we have, we go with Reimer and a Scrivens/Biron.
Something tells me that it'll be the former because Burke's running out of patience (if he ever had any to start with), but he's going to ride it out as long as he can to drive down the asking price.
Personally, I want to stick with Reimer, for at least another year. He's shown a helluva lot more promise than Gus, and we gave Gus how many starts over how many years before we finally are saying goodbye? - gravyface
Ottawa also has to probably decide between Bishop and Lehner. Perhaps one of them will be on the market this week. Lehner was not happy having to stay in the minors last year. |

Why would they? I'd rather run Reimer/scrivens. We want "good" experience in net. |

There's not an owner in the league who would voluntarily continue to pay that much money to a backup. If he's not your starter he'll be traded for whatever another team will give for him. |

i cant help but think about what 2 summers ago in Boston when Thomas (Luongo) was pegged to be Rask's (Schneider) backup. Thomas couldnt get traded out of town fast enough, sound familiar Nuck fans?

No problem, what's one more year with no playoffs. Besides, we like talking about draft picks now-a-days since we have them and we'll love making fun of you guys for paying 5.3 mill for a back up goalie and coming short of making the playoffs because he wasn't moved for so me help. don't be so sure that the Leafs will be in trouble without acquiring a goalie, Reimer is a good goalie and he needs to have a bounce back year, if not Scrivens will be happy to jump in and run with it. |

Agreed bishop made them a little too stacked in net. But I think they'd rather flip bishop than sell Lehner |
