Oh so hes a top pick, i wonder why he wasnt drafted top 5? 89 pts in 57 games is not wow for a defender? 61 pts in 48 games? does any defender this draft have a ratio differential like that? nope. Ryan Ellis is a soldier and was a soldier for the canadian juniors. But yeah that was the proposal back then but its a more fail of a trade proposal for edmonton if that offer was still considered thats why i put the "+"

I agree but i was stating that was a proposal and rumour brought forth before at the time when they traded dustin penner to LA. It was hemsky to nashville for ellis+ but that didnt fall through because Edmonton wanted to much for hemsky and overvalued him.

Agreed. Yeah same hahaha he was a soldier for the juniours for team canada, and is stats are insane. But i agree with your statement of poor defensive abilties. He could possibly be like that but most defenders are like that who are offensive, example LILES is not the greatest defensively and always a minus player usually,etc etc

I think alot of it has to do with style of game. Suter doesnt have the ridiculous cannon or the physical style of play. Not nearly as exciting a game as shea.

Ryan Uses his stick, is positionally sound and doesnt tske alot of chances.
His presence really gives weber a ton of freedom to tske chances offensively.

In fact, trotz plays him more minutes than shea alot of nights as he plays tons of pk as well as pp.

Suter might not get the accolades that weber does, but he'll get rewarded in his pocketbook in 10 days.

Good question, I don't know. Weber is a bit more flashy with his physicality and booming shot so maybe he's just more noticeable? I don't know, maybe Weber really is better. I'm not an expert lol.

Suter gets more minutes than Weber most of the time so his coach must think he's worthy. I don't know if it's a majority or anything but a lot of Preds fans think Suter is better too. That's why I say arguable. Both are great.

A couple of years ago, he played 22 games. Hemsky's had 1 season of 80+ games.

He's never been an exceptionally healthy player.
