Seriously I cant take all the talk about teams moving their top 5 picks this year. Its almost forbidden any other year yet this year it's been mentioned about all 5 teams. I cant wait til Friday, some major moves better go down. - coolehmon41
Pierre McGuire on radi this morning talked about most teams are open to trading their pick because the draft is regarded as especially weak this year. He said watch for teams willing to trade their pick from this year for a pick from next year. Next year appears to be a very strong draft. |

Acquire that contract and keep Komi? Please explain.....
*hint, there is a salary cap - coolehmon41
there are othe rpieces of meat on the leafs besides Komi,
Take Connolly, Lombo and Army for instance... |

Michalek,Foligno,Zibenajad or Stone, 2nd and 3rd. You think it's terrible? I guarantee you the Sens fans on HB will want me banned for that proposal. - coolehmon41
If I was Columbus I would take that in a heartbeat, but I highly doubt Ottawa would offer that much for Nash. |

To get Dudley out of Toronto before the draft? - PrinceLH
They would have let him go regardless. And he's not allowed to be involved in Montreal's draft anyway. That was the stipulation. |

[quote=truth.serum]i will take him, gladly......
yeah, well your the minority. You would think the way leaf fans are acting, that you guys are getting bryz - Deadmau55

Ok, fair enough. The only contract of the 4 mentioned that I think Van will take is Komi because he fills a need. I guess they might consider Army because when healthy he can be useful to any team in the league. The other two make no sense for Van. |

From what we are being told, thats the asking price for Nash. Two roster players, a prospect and two pick. I would also take it in a heartbeat if I were CBJ. |

I wonder if there was a handshake deal, to let Galchenyuk slide, if he gets to 3. Probably has to do with letting Dudley leave early. - PrinceLH
Dream on. These teams don't do each other favours. |

If there is a deal to be made, Gilles and Burke will make it, period. It will take more than a bag of pucks to get Lu, contract aside. |

In my opinion, we should draft at 5, not give up even more assests to move up. We should not try to get Nash. Cap hit is way to high, plus what we would have to give up. Was on the fence with Luongo, but i think the cap hit is too much for too long. I think we should stay the coarse, rebuild. If the right free agent or trade makes sense, do it. Do not allow other Gms to deal from strengh. I know, I am as frustrated as the rest of my fellow leaf fans. |

Yes, I understand that, thank you. I'm just saying I would be shocked if Ottawa offered that particular package. |

Oh so would I, all I was saying is they have the pieces to acquire him and still have depth in their prospect pool. |

Him and Kessel would be the stars of the team.
The amount of value he would add to the leafs would be immense. His 5.5 mill contract is a non factor if you consider how much added revenue a playoff round in Toronto would add.
Expectations will be lower in Toronto and he will return to his hart/vezina trophy form.
Loungo is not a "salary dump" and goalies of his caliber rarely become available. He's an Allstar goalie who's won everything but a cup.
You know what the gm's say......the winner of a trade Is the recipient of the best player......and Kessel aside Luongo is better than anyone on the leafs roster - jakenewton

It will be interesting, if the Habs do let Galchenyuk past the 3rd pick. I wonder what happens at 4? |

I'm betting Galchenyuk, with that statement. It's too black and white. Any logical Leafs fan knows the biggest hole that needs filling. There are no number 1 centers available, via UFA, none coming in the future. No team will allow one to get away for nothing. You got one, you aren't parting with it, unless you get paid handsomely. It's the Number 1 issue with the Leafs, by a mile. - PrinceLH
I'm betting that he never gets to the podium with the pick. He uses to get a real 1C. |

Wouldn't rule out Connolly - Vancouver desperately needs a playmaker, they only have two and they're both named Sedin. |
