Next year is only his 3rd season with last year being a wash. His expectations were very high as a number 2 pick. I think he will reach them and he just had a set back in his development last year. He will be a beast in the future.

Homer, please give JVR atleast a full year. We don't need Ryan or Nash. JVR will light it up.

Before this season, JVR played in 75 and 78 games. I'm not really concerned with his health. It was one bad year of bad luck, IMO.

Hip issues aren't typical. Some of the lower body injuries were groin issue and could be related to the hip. I just think something is up.

honestly...the flyers are close....they just need One Defensemen and a better defensive system.....that's it. a full year with Grossmann clearing the net for Bryz. I think Bryz was at his best once we got Grossmann. One more Big Defensemen and we're set.

It doesn't make any sense to trade JVR while is trade value is so low compared to where his potential and a full season could take it. Not to mention I think his cap hit is relatively friendly for what he can bring to the table.

So I say if there isn't a trade that makes sense to move up, then stand pat and hope a defenseman you covet falls to you, and if not draft one of Dansk or Subban.

Maybe Grig if he slips to 20 but I doubt it.

what would we have to give up? plus, come Sunday, Schultz can go wherever he wants and I don't think he wants to play for the flyers...not sure why though.

Trade Schenn for Bobby Ryan.  Trade vanRiemsdyk for Luke Schenn.  Then go after Suter, Garrison, Wideman or Schultz (in that order).
