I wouldn't be surprised that if it's close they default to the forward because of their track record and negative leverage is when the other teams have the upper hand in negotiations because you are dealing from a position of weakness. - isaiah520
The Flyers won't be dealing from a position of weakness.

unless we were party to their discussion, we don't know how close it was and as I said in an earlier post, they might be in the habit of favoring forwards at this point. |

I really like what I heard and saw in that clip. Richards and Doan. Two way player. Heart and soul. I'll take it. He kinda reminds me a bit of Cody Hodgson.
His hat was almost perfectly straight too. Sooo close. For not having a mirror handy I'll say darn good on him. - rockychocbill

Too often are? Which recent trades that the Flyers made have they been dealing from a position of weakness?

From everything I've read about the Flyers Draft strategy, it's about taking the best player available. And not favoring any one position.

no one said anything about forcing. maata and a few others including some of the goalies, would not have been a force. - isaiah520
do you know that though? i'm just saying, i trust homer's judgment in that regard. maybe they saw something in that kid that made him not worth it at that spot |

and the flyers future on d is what? as shero said last night "you can never have enuf d". add to that d prospects have greater value once they're considered nhl ready.
re C, C, & M we did fairly well...esp coburn, but since dmen are at a premium, most teams end up overpaying like COL did for Johnson, DAL did for gogo and we did for pronger...and likely we will this yr. - isaiah520
