Didn't someone get one of those "didn't sign a first round pick, so you get another one after the first round" things? Like Phoenix with Wheeler?
It's 211 picks this year, isn't it? I thought I remember someone getting one of those weird ones. - prock
Ya. I think it has to do with a 1st rounder in 2007 not being signed. I jsut can't remember the team or players name. |

Brian Huddle: Final Draft Thoughts from B-Hud - Brian Huddle
1) no one has ever said this was a good draft
2) seriously, people think Grigorenko intentionally hid years of million dollar salary to boost his draft status??? I've never heard that "roomer" before |

Last year all I heard was sucks that you guys have 1 this year as next year is stocked with all high end d-men.
As for the mystery pick
The San Jose Sharks will receive the 25th pick of this round (55th overall) as compensation for not signing 2007 first-round draft pick Patrick White. |

it is stacked with solid dman but even nail is not a top end talent. he'd have gone 4-6 last year most likely... |

Except of course for the fact that last year they were saying Nail would go above Nuge as the #1.
Other than that. |

i'm not sure which part is funny. Huberdeau(3)>Nail. Adam Larsson is at worst on par..... - muffin_man
I heard Hall sucked, and RNH sucked too, same poop about Nail now. |

This was my original point, I NEVER heard anything but "2012 will be a weak draft" all the time for the past 2 years. |

And I heard Komisarek will get you Getzlaf and a 1st. If you go looking for the lowest common denominator you will always find it. |

All I heard last year was Nail > anyone in the 2011 Draft.
Since I'm right and you are wrong, I wins. |

I like the thought on CGY taking Girgensons, but would be fine if CGY swapped their 1st for buffalos 21st and a 2nd (41st)
Then CGY could take Sissons (would love to say Thrower but too early still) and Subban in the 2nd round.
They need Size in the RW and a goalie prospect. Fills their cupboards more then a Center that won't play right away.
But if Girgensons could crack the line up, then its worth taking him - numbear
I think we need defense more than goaltending. I'd take a goalie in the 4th or 5th round, but would rather take a good defenseman or RW in the 1st and 2nd (if we get a pick there).
Maybe a guy like Tom Wilson if he's still there at 21, and a defenseman like Lindholm who has good upside but might take a while to develop in the 2nd. |
