Coburn was playing at a top-pair level down the stretch IMO. You don't deal him for Ryan. - LeachHextall27
That's fine. I like Coburn. I also like Meszaros. I think 1 of them will go for Ryan, and you have to give up a roster forward. I dont want to do Schenn or Couts. And with Read's cap hit I think you keep him. With Voracek giving you contract problems 2 years in a row, trade him before it becomes a problem. He is a nice young player, but I don't know where all this Voracek love is coming from. He reminds me of a stonger, slightly more talented version of Ville Leino. Holds onto the puck too long, and doesnt shoot enough. He has 0 finish. Wellwood has more finish then Voracek. But I do agree if your trading Voracek and either Coby or Mez something coming back would be good. Its not going to be Sbisa... Anaheim is killing for D. But most likely a 2nd, which with the ducks will likely be a high second. |

I had the sexiest dream last night. Now I know IT WON'T HAPPEN. I know it won't work capgek wise. However, it was just a dream.
Traded Luke and Brayden Schenn, Guss, Cousins, and 2 firsts for Suter and Weber.
Then traded Jake and Coburn for Ryan.
Re-signed Carle
Signed Biron and Parise.
Harts-G-Ryan(scoring winger)
Simmer-Danny-Parise(to help Danny's defensive woes)
Read-Cooties-Talbot
Rinaldo-Wellwood-Sestito
Weber-Suter
Kimmo-Grossmann
Carle-Mezzy
Bryz
Biron - Deasr1
would NHL 12 do those trades? haha. |

You keep Coburn, deal Meszaros in that situation then. It's a no brainer IMO. |

Right now Meszaros or Coburn should not be traded for Bobby Ryan. Ryan is a great winger but scoring really isn't a need right now. If the Flyers resign Carle their defense will be solid and have depth something that this team will need without a true #1 D-man.
The only trade I'd do for Ryan is this:
TO ANA: Voracek, 1st, Bourdon
TO PHI: Ryan

CBJ fired four scouts at the draft lol...... - Philly1980
That complety blows my mind. What kind of clown show is he running?
What did he say, ok guys..tell me who to draft... Howson drafts them..goes out for beers with other GM's after round 7, and they mock him saying why the (frank) did you draft those players???
Next day, you guys are fired! Seems like a disconnect to me. If that happened to the FLyers, I'd lose it. |

I think that both Carter and Richards are better overall players then Ryan is. - MJL
I agree. And Kessel is a better offensive player.
Richards - Top-end prospect, Solid 2nd/3rd line player, 2nd round pick
Carter - Solid 2nd line player with upside, high first round pick, 3rd round pick
Kessel - two first round draft picks (at the time not believed to be lottery picks)
I think Ryan's value is somewhere between Richards and Carter/Kessel. |

he has some finish, but not a lot. I'd trade Voracek for Ryan. promote wellwood to regular player. |

Finding a top-line winger is a need IMO. I just wouldn't deal Voracek AND Coburn/Meszy for Ryan. |

Coburn is not a deal breaker in my opinion. Coburn instead of Meszaros just means I ask for more coming back. If you think about our Defense, we need what Meszaros brings more then Coburn.
Defensive minded Guys:
Coburn
Grossmann
Schenn
Passing Guys
Timonen
Carle
Shoot First Guys
Meszaros

Luke Schenn is a bottom 6 guy now. He has the potential to be a top 4 shutdown with offensive upside. Hits hard, plays hard, can score. Leadership qualities.
JVR is a 20 goal scorer with potential to get to a 30-35 power forward Potential. Big man defensively reliable and can skate well for a man his size.
Both are valuable, but more valuable to the teams they got traded to based on position and need. Both have shown flashes of what they could become. - flyler
I think Schenn will impress this season. He is still only 22.
I will make sure that fact is made known every day when people start ripping him like they did JVR as if they were both 26 year old veterans.

They won't have that much. What Bill says is about what they'll have. - MJL
They have 11,481,627... including Pronger
Matt Carle signs for 4.75MM leaving them 6,731,627
Voracek is resigned at 2.75MM leaving them 3,981,627
Marty Biron is signed at 875,000 leaving them with 3,106,627
MAB, Harry Z and co. will be in the minors as Lilja is slated to be the 7th defenseman currently.
Chris Pronger LTIR'd gives them 8,028,056 of space.
More could be attained by simply waiving Shelley etc... if they were inclined to do so.
Fact of the matter is the Flyers can do or sign anything they want. Cap space is not a problem. |

I think the plan is to get a guy to play max 15 games because it seems that Bryz plays best when he plays a lot.
So if that's the case, you could go with Leighton at 550k. I'd prefer to bring Biron back, but I suspect he'd want in the 800k range. |

Now, this could be interesting:
To Ana - Coburn, Vorachek, 1st, Bourdon/Gusty
to Phi - Ryan, Sbisa
Thoughts? |

Voracek is getting at least 3.5. that's why I'd trade him. I'd sign Bouch for league minimum. I'd give Parise a 7 year 49 million contract. |
