After crushing the draft, and robbing the Leafs blind for Luke Schenn, hopefully Holmgren locks up Carle, signs Jagr, and brings back Leighton to be the backup G, once those moves are made Holmger can light a big fat cigar, put his feet up on the desk, and chill. Mission complete! - PLindbergh31

It appears Schultz will be a nuck. Reports are his playing interest is western Canada and Edmonton hadn't heard from him - Just5
Remember the last time there was this much hype about signing a player who had never played a game in the NHL? Admittedly I don't know alot about Schultz, but I'm skeptical.
Fabian was all that and a bag of chips too until he played. |

It's not a clip of him giving up that ridiculous clinching goal. |

Since you obviously disagree with just about everything they do, why not find a new team to complain about? Or at least keep it fresh. |

IHe started a charity called "Penner Cakes". So at least he has fun with it and something good came out of it. Either way I would have said I fell or something but to each their own.

How do you know it's not the Flyers decision to sign him to a one year deal? How do you know it will be a one year deal? You're making a lot of assumptions. - funmaster18 cause he signed a one year deal last year. PS this is a board for mostly opinions any way.

Leighton's idol was Bill Buckner |

I don't see any complaining in my post. Simply stating my opinion.
Complaining about people who complain is an interesting concept. |

then they'll get draft picks right? he's restricted.
I'd give them Voracek for Ryan. |

Buckner is a borderline hall of famer, who happened to make a terrible error on the biggest stage, when he was at the end of his career. Leighton is a career minor leaguer for the most part, I don't think the players are in anyway comparable. IMO of course. |

jagr is one of the greatest goal scores in NHL history...jake is a so-so shooter. - isaiah520
Jagr scored 19 playing with Giroux. Voracek scored 18 playing with other guys.

If Carle walks.....flyers get Parise. - flyersfan51
He would still have agree to it first . Even if the Flyers let Carle and Jagr walk, re-sign Voracek ($3.0 M estimate), re-sign Bourdon ($900K estimate) and a backup goalie ($800,000), plan to waive Shelley ($1.1M) and can find a taker for Lilja ($737,500, over-35 contract) via minor trade, they will have $7.914M of cap space.
Sign Parise at $7.9 M and there's a mere $140,000 of cap space plus Pronger's LTIR to get through the entire season. And that's with carrying the absolute minimum (6 D, 12 forward) number of skaters.
It isn't realistic.

There is no such thing as having too many defenseman. |
