Once again , as i said be4, multiple analysts have said that the Habs have won this draft, not just my words, but the pros have spoken, and boy do I agree. Now first things first, the standouts in this years Habs combine were, Alexandre Avtsyn, remeber him? Bergevin stated that this kid has been in the farm 2 years, incredible talent, and has all the tools to be an elite player but needs to be ' coached '!!!. dont believe me? check him out on hockey's future.@ 6'3 thats not small. And then theirs Nattinen, first year in the AHL, was injured for the most part of the year, but finally introduced to the north american game , stood out as the class of the combine this year. Naatinen , was part of the finnish goal medal team and was voted, first all star centre in the tourney. Standing at 6'3 and is very capable as a #1 centre,( big centre) yet needs a lil more time to integrate in our game .This year, (the pros) say that he will explode in the AHL. My point is that although many posters here believe and say that the Habs are sub par in size,I add another 2 players that maybe you dont know of. Add Tinordi, Bealieu to that, i think its fair 2 say that the HABS not only have size coming , but they also they have talent to match it, and it will be displayed in the near future.On 2 Galchenyuk , according to Craig Button this kid is exactly the twin of Ron Francis, (hall of fame) with an offensive upside identical to Marion Hossa, and Pierre Mcguire , said it best.' The Habs get a player, that can play anyway you want. Incredible talent that elevates his linemates game. Hes an elite player that you build a franchise around'. @ 6'1.5 and still growing, do you think that weR still small?. Did i mention Thrower....Ellis . Pribyl (power forward) so many more but it would take a full page....

Minnesota: Granlund, Coyle, Lucia, Hackett, Phillips, Rau, Brodin, Bulmer, Zucker... that's a good list of prospects.

NYI: Strome, Nino, Anders Lee, Brock Nelson, Cizikas, Mayfield, De Haan, Pedan and Ness. There are some good names there too.


You go on and on about guys like Jurco, Tatar, etc. good prospects, yes... but there are a lot of question marks on them too. They're boom or bust type players. Hockey is about more than stick handling in a phone booth... it's about fear, intimidation, will, strength, sacrifice, teamwork, character.

Have to say the Habs did do a great job this year. Let's hope we can look forward to both the Habs and the Leafs getting back to being revered hockey clubs!

I'm very happy to get Galyenchuk.

Habs did an incredible job this year. Never thought we could manage to get both Galyenchuk and Collberg.

Thrower is also a nice surprise at #3.

The only pick I disapprouve of is Hudon. I just don't see the potential there.

The Habs did great, and with no pressing need they could take the best player available instead of positionally. Having Collberg, Thrower and Bozon fall right into your laps helps too. Fantastic draft by Bergevin.

Brian, who do you think has the best chance to stick with the Habs or a least get a 9-game stint of all this year's picks not including Galchenyuk?

I like this year's Montreal draft.. Looks like the Habs are on the right track, especially since they chose Galchenuyk, I think Columbus are idiots.

Seriously? They're nowhere near the top goalies in the league.

Also no mention of the fact the bolded players are very much "hard nosed" players, who bring a physical element to the game.
