this is why guys like Matt Read are hugely valuable - Marc D
I agree. There are plenty of guys on EL deals that can be had for a decent price. |

They would have to unload a bunch of players to land both. Even if they land one its going to force a trade. |

A bunch or force one to be moved out? I know it isn't likely, but this is business, you move Briere, that opens up a bunch of space and a lot of the core can still stay in tact. Highly unlikely, I know. |

Sure plenty of players. But plenty of good players on EL deals. Not likely to be had for a decent price.

Anyone upset about Bartulis? I see his buyout counts this and next year for $100,000.

The more I think about it the more I am on board with a monster offer to Zach Parise. To get Parise locked up long term and make Parise and Giroux the center pieces of this team for the next decade plus would be a great thing.
As for Suter, not so much. Especially to offer them BOTH monster deals. Just doesn't make sense.
Giroux-Parise for a decade... absolutely. |

I rather spend some picks or move overpaid players (if possible) to acquire some of those players. The price for signing a free agent is beyond ridiculous at this point. |

My guess is they don't expect to get both. Offering big deals to both to get one. |

More like trying to get either or. and get an iron in both fires. They can't sign both. You make an offer to both and see what happens.
