Dear Homer,
Dont trade Coots
Signed
Everyone, ever. |

Seems like Homer pays decent money to 3rd and 4th liners like Talbot and Shelley.
Any chance they are looking at Prust?
Whitney?
I just don't see how we have much cap room to play with. |

if the preds lose suter, I can't see them losing weber as well, so we might as well look elsewhere going forward... |

I like Clemmenson as the back-up goalie. I'm not sure the Flyers would be willing to go to $6 million/yr with Carle. I do believe they feel they have a need a top forward to pair with G. I'm expecting a big push for a top winger and allow one of their younger d-men already in the organization to fill the 6th spot for the time being. Homer will add defensive depth at the trade deadline if needed like he has in the past. |

Let's get Konopka. Sestito-Konopka-Rinaldo anyone? That line would bring the pain, if not the penalty minutes. |

Signing carle is big, it opens up trades. Can't lose a player of his calibre for nothing. Even over paying some will not hurt. I could see carle going to Edmonton if they want to over pay. Jagr too.
I see suter waiting to see what Nashville does to find offense before he officially leaves. This is a classic eklund dominos. |

Do not overpay Carle. Just because Calgary and buffet boy Feaster lost their mind with Wideman doesn't mean the Flyers have to follow suit
Move on from Jagr, makes no sense to sign someone you know will miss a goood amount of games as well as be out of gas in the playoffs.
Finally under zero circumstance do not bring Leighton back. I don't give a rats ass if his cap hit is a wooden nickle. |

Bill Meltzer: Free Agency 2012: What Will the Flyers Do? - bmeltzer
before we acquired Luke, I was open to trading Brayden for a young dman the caliber of bogo or subban. unfortunately, w/ JVR shipped out, that ship has sailed.
don't get me wrong, I like b schenn better than JVR, but you have to give to get and the flyers can't draft/develop dmen the last 20 + yrs. |

If Konopka's vaunted faceoff prowess and toughness are so valuable to his teams, why aren't the Sens very interested in bringing him back even though he only made $700,000 last year? Why did he only get into 55 games last season? Why was he on the market as a UFA for so long last summer? Why didn't the lowly Islanders decide they didn't want him back last summer? Why has he been on three different teams in the last three years? Why has he been on four different teams in the last five years? Why will his next team be sixth NHL club?
Those things tell me that the cons (constant dumb penalties, lack of speed, lack of hockey sense) outweigh any benefits he brings.

Nash re signed Gaustad, I wonder does that affect their ability to sign Suter? If I had to pick, I'd take Weber over Suter, and I expect them to do whatever it takes to keep him. |

Dreger just tweeted this:
"With reat respect to teams who think they're in on Rick Nash, my guess he ends up in NY, Philly, or SJ(longshot). Remember his list is short." |

It has no effect on their ability to re-sign Suter and Weber if either/both are inclined to stay put for the long term.
The Predators have a long way to go to even reach the cap floor; that's why they overpaid Gaustad so much to keep him.

Giroux, Schenn, Couturier, Schenn.... Keep these guys on the roster at all costs.
Any other moves to improve the team, do it. |

Nash to philly makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Let the rangers over pay for him. In more ways than one.
Does Holmgren have a guilty concious from the Carter/ Couturier and Czhecky trade? |

CapGeek is as close as you are going to get to accurate without going through the amount of days each player played last year and applying that to their cap hit. |
