The board seems bored.
Heat grtting to everyone.
Time to chill and let chips fall where they may. - Daman
The Season is screwed! I've already called and canceled my Season tickets. After the failure at the Draft, and now the backup Goalie fiasco! I'm done.
0 Stanley Cups for Holmgren and Clarke as GM's. Time for them to go! |

And everyone will come out of the woodwork and say they would rather have Carle at 6 million, than Suter at 7 million.
What happened to the handshake deal, and Carle wanting to stay with the Flyers are below market value? It appears it went up in smoke with the Wideman deal. Never underestimate the greed of a professional athlete, their goal is to ring every last penny out of a franchise. - PLindbergh31
I rather have Suter for the million more because hes the better player. Handshakes mean nothing. Contracts with a signature on it is what counts. |

You watch them play and it is very clear Giroux and Parise are much better and more complete players than Jeff Carter. Not even sure why I am bothering to argue this with you..
Not to mention the comparison is ridiculous because when Carter went to play with Nash it was widely speculated that they would not have chemistry because neither of them are the playmaker type and both are goal scorers. - Flyers2821
So because they both score goals more that means one can't pass the puck to the other one for a scoring chance, got it! I love these hockeybuzz myths. |

I guess signing with Pitt may have to wait one day - Marc D
Maybe he is seriously considering the Flyers or another teams offer (not just Pitts). |

Have to also figure Detroit put some serious money on the table. I wouldn't be suprised that Parise wants to play with the Pens, but what if the Pens offer is third best from a finanical stand point, then what? I think that is the dilemma. |

I like Parise a lot but that kind of money is elite/franchise type coin. I think hes a great player but not sure if hes worth that kind of money. |

who knows how true that was to begin with, but it certainly seems like the wideman deal set the tone. unfortunate, if that's what happened
can't say i'd be cool with signing carle for anything over 5.5 per. even 5.25-5.5 is pushing it, imo. i'd rather just stay put, see what the kids can do |

Carle was destined for $5-$5.5 range before Wideman, it's not like the market is flooded with guys of his ilk. |

Not very impressed with the Free Agency period today. I also was hoping for a lot of trades to go down today. |

I'll go on record and say I'd rather have Suter at 7 mill than Carle at 6. But I if it were up to me, I'd let them both walk and go full blast after Weber next year with Timonen off the books. |

I don't believe there was ever a handshake deal. All that was said is that the Flyers want Carle back, Carle wants to play here, and that Holmgren
thinks that he can get him for under market value. Well the market changed. And Pannacio says that the Flyers are desperate to re-sign Matt Carle. Take it for what it's worth.
