To get a guy like Parise thats the kind of money you need to throw. All teams prob threw in that "ballpark" amount of money. Basically it comes down to who he wants to play for and play with for the rest of his career. If the Flyers got him I would be jacked up, its not like he a joke and the cap hit would be better than Nash's by a bit.

The Flyers obviously believe they don't have a long-term compliment on wing to G. For whatever reason, JVR felt out of favor. Voracek isn't an elite scorer. Hartnell and Simmonds are pretty much garbage goals and screens. Might as well go all in on Parise now because it will only cost money and no young assets and there are some big contracts coming off the books over the next 3 years - Kimmo, Hartnell, and Briere.

Parise is also a leader, can score and is a excellent two way player. He wold be worh the money IMO
