I do have a soft spot for Foligno though.

And I think you need to add with him. I love Ryan but I just can't see the Sabres a whole lot better with Ryan instead of Pominville in there. Now if you keep Pominville and add Ryan, now that's a better team. And I just don't see how Stafford's stock is so low. He's far from my favorite player but he just had two 50 pt season's. I can't see how Stafford+a top 4 D man+ a draft pick shouldn't be enough. We could maybe even throw in a Weber or something to sweeten it.

Again, Vancouver has had what most would consider 2 successful seasons and they don't hit all the time. It does make a difference, but not as much as you're claiming it to be.

I never said it was the be all and end all, but only said Ryan is a better player to have than Pominville or to put Pominville in his proper place as a nice, 2nd line winger. Where do people read into the all or nothing theme?

And if Buffalo really feels like Ryan is the answer make it a #1 draft pick. The problem is, right now we have to many untouchables and for good reason I think. I don't remember when I've seen these many kids with so much potential playing for Buffalo. If everything pans out, your looking at 9-10 great NHLer's playing in the next 5 years. But IF I were Darcy, this would be my offer, Stafford, Leo or Sekera, 1st 2013, 1st 2014 Weber ( If it would make a difference). And like I said, That's if they think he's the missing piece to the cup.
