Because the Avalanche will match anything that the Sabres offer for O'Reilly. He's good, but he's not worth the dollar figure contract that would give up 4 first-round picks.

Highly doubt it considering Regier's comments after the Vanek offer sheet a few years back. I'm not saying he shouldn't, but it might make Regier something of a hypocrite if he were to do it.

I just dont see Regier doing that

I think he was likely one of those teams that liked Weber and tried to trade for him outright instead of going that route
