No he died january 22, 2008 while they were still doing post filming editing on The Dark Knight..

it wasn't an Oscar that he won.. it was on January 11, 2009 he won Golden Globe for best supporting actor.

Ok, well, one, he did win the Oscar for best supporting role. It wasn't the Joker role that got him all whacked out, it was Doctor Parnassus, and he definitely deserved the Oscar. It was a breathtaking performance. Also of note, the Oscars are a joke. One of the people he beat out was Robert Downey Jr. for Tropic Thunder, so, yeah, like I said, a joke.
