I mean how would we get Dubi it will take at least Stafford.Im not really sold on Stewart either. - evatnorth
He sign that 4mil per deal last year
If the rangers are looking to add a BIG salary guy like Nash or even someone in free agency next season like Perry, Iginla, Getzlaf, etc...
They need to clear room
And with Dubinsky having a down offensive season last year,
I think he'd be the guy to be moved
And I don't think they'd ask for a ton back
Maybe a forward prospect like Sundher or Catenacci to go with the pick?
At any rate,
I think there's guys out there that could be had without giving up the crazy amount it'd likely take to he Nash or Ryan, etc |

We've had people say Ott is a RW, Center, and LW. Now that he apparently plays every forward position, let's pair him up with Robyn Regehr. Jesus people, he's LW, and ONLY LW. |

I think if Doan fails which it should. We should trade Gerbe,Sekera and Brennan and if a second round pick for Iggy. They are all getting younger players under contract and Fester is Dumb... |

Switch Pommer and Stewart. Our captain won't be getting 3rd line minutes next year, let alone with Steve Ott and Brandon Dubinsky. Stewart would mesh into that 3rd line with his grittiness. I know what you said about Stewart taking pressure off Vanek to stand in front of the net, but you just can't slap in a gritty PWF with a couple skill guys... Just my opinion. - LetsGoBuffalo75
I disagree
That what we did with Foligno
Also,
I don't really see that Ott-Dubinsky-Pominville group as the 3rd line
That'd be the line that goes up against other teams' top lines
So they'd get plenty of minutes
Another reason I have Pominville on that line is I trust him defensively more that Stewart |

They only use him in the Wildcat anyway so it really doesn't matter. |

Ennis: 140 Games, 38 Goals, 54 Assists = 92 Points. (65.7% Points per game)
Duchene: 219 Games, 65 Goals, 85 Assists = 150 Points. (68.5% Points per game)
Duchene has more games played, goals and assists. Makes him more of an established player in the league and worth more.
Ennis sees no more than 3m. |

Ennis and Stafford are not just skill like Vanek and Hodgson. Ennis frequently throws checks and goes into corners, and Stafford is gritty too (occasionally). That line has players with about equal grit and skill. Ennis is HUGELY underrated with his tenacity. |

Last time I saw Stafford enter the "gritty" realm was when Chris Neil cheap shotted Chris Drury.. |

If the Sabres could have Ryan for that package Ryan would have been a Sabre a LONG time ago.
The Ducks want Ennis. - rustbelt82
Where do you get this info from. Stafford is a better player than Ennis. He hgas done more, is still young, has leadership qualities, is more responsibnle in his ownb end.....I think Stafford would have more trade value with any NHL executive. I know Buffalo dfans will not think so, but look at the bdy of work. Stafford is still young too. |

definitely went to Dave and Adams today and bought a 30 dollar clearance Roy jersey and took it to the Sabres store for the free name switch. all I had to was buy a 4 dollar puck
so cant complain for 36 bucks getting a Ott jersey and a puck |

Note how I said occasionally. He can deck guys if/when he wants. I still laugh at when he absolutely punished Jeff SKinner going into the corner. |

Dave Davis @DaveDavisHockey
@Sabrescup12 Ennis outscored him last season, and Duchene doesn't have Pegula for an owner.
I'm thinking what i should say ,lol
did you forget the last 2 Season's ? 2009-10 3rd in Calder Trophy voting( had 24g ,31a- 55pts), 2010-11 his first NHL All-Star Game( 27g ,40a -67pts) and ennis should make more money got it ..
sound good ? |

Stafford hits ppl a LITTLE,
But he's constantly a focus of frustration amongst Sabres fans bc he isn't nearly as gritty & tough as he could be
Ennis was credited with 26 hits in 48 games...
That's about one hit every other game
BOTH of those guys are WAY more "skill" then they are "grit"
But even if u don't agree with that...
If Ott & Dubinsky are going up against other teams' top lines (like I suggest they would)... Wouldn't it make more sense to put a guy like Pominville with them?
We already KNOW he can play decent defensively
Let Stewart focus more on offense
We'll prob have to agree to disagree on this one...
But that's the way I see it |
