well i think when Ennis: Lets say a team pays him 4 years 4 million a year. (overpay for the sabres "wont match") That means the team that offers Ennis that offer sheet and the sabres decline. That team gives up a 1st and 3rd round pick. Thats actually a lot for an unproven player like ennis. So i doubt it.
With Weber .....hes of course worth 4 first round picks.

All qualifying him does is keep him from hitting the UFA market. He's still eligible to receive an offer sheet. The only thing that prevents that is if the player or team elects arbitration.

That's one of the few intricacies from the CBA that I know. I remember reading something about it a few years ago when Lundqvist was an RFA. The Rags elected to take him to arbitration so that they didn't have to worry about it while they tried to work out a deal.
