can't blame the goalie for that one, it was a perfect shot by brodeur.

What's the deal with grabbing, then waiving Boychuk in the span of 24 hours?

@DarrenDreger: Rangers place Halpern, Caps place Crabb, Canes place Boychuk, Bolts place Lee on Waivers

Guess we will send Boychuk to Charlotte for the remainder of the year...Unless another NHL team claims him. Wonder if Nashville will claim him & send him to their AHL team?

Surprised we sent Riley Nash down...I thought he was playing well.

Ellis out 7-10 days with a cut near his Knee that needed 17 stitches.

Muse will be called up, & Mike Murphy who is practicing with the Checkers will probably be signed to play in Charlotte.

The plan all along was to send him back to the AHL. They had to waive him again to send him down.

Makes sense. As another guy pointed out, he might have a better chance clearing waivers now that people have seen him in other systems.

Sadly, I fear that Boychuk might be running out of auditions. He got a pretty good run on Malkin's line before they sent him to the press box. When you can't make that work as an offense-leaning forward, most of the other teams' "he might work here" thoughts begin to evaporate.

Canes have a few players like him where they are one-dimensional offensive players. If they do not find their groove quickly and become 45-50-pointish/top 6 forward NHL players pretty quickly, they turn into career AHLers because they don't fit on the non-scoring/checking kind of lines.

Lord knows the Oilers have/had a boatload of those guys. Omark, Schremp, Cogliano, Nilsson, even Riley Nash. You can't teach speed so a guy like Boychuk is certainly tantalizing, but let's hope he gets into a groove for the AHL year and has a chance to make the bigs next season.

Been saying that about Boychuk for the last three seasons now!

His game just hasn't been there at the NHL level...poor guy looks like a career AHLer.

In the last couple of mins. vs. the Devils. He went to make a save going side to side, & dove forward a bit...some how he cut himself with his own skate near the knee. Needed 17 stitches, & they said it just missed cutting his MCL, & an artery!
