Whoever is responsible for the rules like the one that surrounds Morgan Reilly this season is a complete Moron! This kid is not going to develop anymore by staying in the WHL. Yet he can't go with the Marlies to continue to develop his game? Makes a whole lot of sense to me, lol. Maybe this kid will indeed make the Leaf defensive unit this season but that's a stretch.

I believe he can go to the Marlies after the if he plays at least 10 games with the leafs. However if he does play 10 games with the leafs and is sent down 1 year of his ELC is basically wasted. At least that's what happened with Del Zotto in 2010-11.

The AHL is still a league, its not just about the NHL, alot of guys in the AHL remain there for their careers. Its hard to ensure job security to those veteran players if the name of the game is strictly just to develop freshly drafted prospects. If you're special, and you can make the NHL, great, if you're not quite there yet, then you have to endure the same development as the rest who aren't in the same process. Its the way it should be, regardless of whether or not we fans agree.

In 2010-11 Del Zotto was 20, and therefore eligible for the AHL. For any player drafted out of the CHL, its either their junior team or the NHL until they turn 20

Did you not say, "at least thats what happened to Del Zotto"? What would that imply? That was a statement, and it was wrong. So i let you know. You created that for yourself.

I think I'd have Finn before Gauthier and maybe even Percy. I seem to have higher expectations of Biggs than most, too. But your list is good and I like our prospect pool.

At least Atlanta drafted well. Bogosian, Kane, Postma, Little, Pavelec, and Enstrom and that's just the list of current players on the roster for the Jets.
