Unfortunately, I get the feeling they'll find a way to lose this one like they did the Arizona game.

You mentioned it a couple weeks ago; as soon as there's some real improvement and something to feel positive about (a couple wins- solid games), they lay an absolute egg and take a step back

It's in these cases where I start to believe that the "progress" like matts spoken of is more window dressing than anything else. And it still comes down to their lack of confidence/understanding how to win in this league. And with that said, it maybe proves that standings are really the only measure that truly matters/shows where we are

Knowing how things go around this time of year for the Avs; Eberle will have a 3 point game.

Landeskog is back, and Rantanen is ready to make an impact. You would figure that one of the highest scoring 19 years old in the AHL ever getting called up would be in the Keys to the game

Hendo failed to mentioned that....tsk tsk

Haven't seen Rantanen play since his first preseason. Will be interesting to see how he's progressed since then.

Hes going to be the full package soon enough, hes starting on the 4th line tonight, Roy saying he will go shift by shift with him, easing him into the line up.

He was making the AHL his playground for the most part, excited to see him back in the mix

With Pickard in tonight, we'd better blow them out of the water. I don't care if he's having a good season or not. I'm so sick of teams starting their backups against us and still winning. To take a step forward as a franchise we need to start winning these games.

Well the Av's are fighting for that last playoff spot right now, so back-up or not, this is a game the Av's should be winning tonight, if they want to take a step forward as a franchise....and earn Fatmarsh some bonus lunch money on a sport select win.

what's up with RNH on the 3rd line?
How has he been since returning from injury?

Don't think of it as the third line, think of it as line 2B. He has looked good, but has also at times looked like he just took 6 weeks off work or something

Ok. Well, why isn't he on line 2A, or even line 1 then??

Fighting for a playoff spot or not, we need to beat teams that play their backups against us, which happens pretty often.

We have 3 good centres that could play 1c.

And he's probably the best defensively. It's only a very marginal slight to him

Decent in a couple- really good in another

Spreading the size and skill throughout the lineup. The lines get mixed up during the game, so it really doesn't matter too much.

Well he pretty much was before he got hurt. Then McDavid came back after 3 months off work and went apepoop on the scoresheets so that kinda means he has to be on the first or second line. Only thing really hurting Nuge is he has had to play with that bust Yakupov as his winger.

Why is it more important to win a game when a team plays its backup or 1B, than it is to win a game playing the regular tender? Shouldn't they need to win games regardless of who is in net?

Think of them as 3 scoring lines that run based at similar minute numbers barring one standing out in either a good way or a bad way. Minutes are adjusted by whichever one is playing the best and it makes the matchup game awfully difficult.
