I can see them trying to package some of those picks to move up.

round 1 - 1(2nd)
round 2 - 1 (44)
round 3 - 2 (75, 80)
round 4 - 3 (106, 107, 108) That should be fun if they keep them all
round 5 - 1 (137)
round 6 - 1 (168)
round 7 - 2 (199, 200)

Its going to be an exciting day because I see Hexy trying to use some of these pick assets to either move up, or maybe even more likely, to get some higher picks in NEXT years draft which looks to be a stronger class overall.

Bill, unless Winnipeg opts for the 8/1 protection method, they will lose one of Trouba or Myers (both Byfuglien and Enstrom have NMCs). I love Trouba no doubt, but I think Tyler Myers could be had. I don't think he'll ever repeat his rookie year, but would be a nice guy to put into our top-4 next year.

Bill is there a limit to how many players they can talk to? Or is it just limited for the sake of time/effort?

When I become GM I will interview players I already know just to see how good I am at interviewing

I actually think its a no brainer that the Jets go the 8/1 route.

They HAVE to protect Buf and Enstrom. They protect Myers, Trouba, Scheifele, Little, Lowry, Hellebuyck(G), and probably Wheeler.

This interested me because I think the Flyers will be in the same spot down the line when the next expansion draft comes around. They will and should try to protect as many of the defensmen as possible and they will HAVE to protect Giroux.

At least nobody can complain in 5 years that we screwed up at 106 cause 108 has a better career.

As Bill said if you can add an already proven somewhat young guy on D you do it. No guarantee the prospect they already have pan out.

like to see them use those last 2 picks on whoever left has the highest upside/risk or guys from Europe they can stash away.

He's already declared on his blog, "I hate everything", that all the picks in this years draft are busts. Because, Flyers.

Totally underestimated all of the other bust picks post 108...The Flyers draft sucks then.

I wonder if they use some picks to try and move up, or if they package a pick or 2 with AMac (with some $$ retained) and a forward to get a Dman actually worth protecting.

The last thing I want to see is a trade for a defenseman. Unless the trade is literally they send Player X to us for say a 4th round pick, and at the entry draft we send the Player back to them for a 2nd round pick.

He's a guy I thought they might target. He only has 2 years left, rather than the 3 that AMac has, at 5.5 million per.

He won't come real cheap, but I'd be willing to offer AMac (with 20% retention) our 2nd round pick in 2017 one of our 4th round picks in 2017 and a guy like Laughton or Weal.
