Karine Hains: One Period Too Many The wheels fell off the wagon early in the 3rd period and the Habs lost 4-2 to the Leafs.

I was thinking about posting it again, but maybe it will be better later on.

Wait a few weeks, maybe months (can we do it?). He'll forget about it.

And then : BAM!

The Holl goal was deflected by Weber's stick, and it clearly bothered Price, just look at the reaction by Price. Take a second and watch the replay in slow mo.....just nicks Weber's stick.

I think there was miscommunication between Weber and Price, he prolly thought Weber would block that shot

Not all of the loss is on Price, even though they generated more shots, Toronto was getting the better quality chances. That said Price has not been part of the solution either and his contract is looking abysmal.

Totally agree. Price actually made a few great saves on high quality chances, the shots on goal were misleading. The Holl goal wasn't great, but we can't hang this one on Carey.

We can't score at home. On the road we're on fire. At home? God awful. Don't know why, but that pressure still seems to loom over our heads.

Hopefully we can turn it around against Edmonton tomorrow. They're no Vancouver, but despite the firepower they have, if the boys are as balanced as they seem to be on the road, we should come away with 2 points.

Fingers crossed, Go Habs Go!

I say this one is definitely on Price, he is paid the contract to make the key saves for us and keep us in the game which he is not. This contract certainly doesn’t look good now

He'll never be a 10,5M goalie. It was too much money. But was Price supposed to say no to that?

But the fact is he has to be better. I still think he will get his act together and that Allen is no longer a number one goalie at this point in the NHL.

But having said that, Julien could ride the hot hand for now, untill Price is better.

I don't understand this "number 1 goalie business". What exactly makes a number 1 goalie, how much they're paid or what they've done in the past? Price is objectively by the stats not playing anywhere near good enough right now to be considered "a number one goalie". Allen on the other hand is and should have got the start against Toronto.

Braidan, where's that huge hammer for yesterday. Oh right, only homophobic comments. Got it.

I apparently need to back-read, and I'm by no means a huge fan, but taunting the ref is NOT the smartest move. I'm no paragon of virtue... But you? You're a troll. Be better, or be gone.

There was no winning, the way the team has been playing... Allen plays last night, dunno if he'd fare any better, but then you expose Price, the colder goalie to McD and Drai. Price hasn't been lights out for sure, but for the last few games? The whole team hasn't played well. It's back to the same old, same old Habs. Sure, they had more shots, but the Leafs D kept must of those to perimeter and low percentage shots. The Leafs D. (See gif below...) There's plenty of blame to go around, believe me. First shift was great, then they completely fell apart. They need to find some of that road magic at home, period.

This is not the same team as we saw earlier this season. The year will be filled with ups and downs, just a shame they had one their downs last night.

The difference maker was that the Leafs had prime scoring chances, their shots were mostly dangerous and precise. Habs had peripheral shots for most of the night, and when they had opportunities, it was either 6 feet wide or on Andersen's belly. Leafs were very good at defending dangerous areas.

I think the Habs are deep overall up front, have a solid defense, and goaltending should be above average to possibly great if Price returns to form.
But specifically up front, when your top 3 centres have scored 4 goals combined this far into the season, you have a problem. Big time.

and if Andersen doesn't give up a weak goal to start the game, Habs are down 3-0 wiith minutes left. Price was not great, but this L is not on him one bit.

So Danault leaves at the end of the season? That guy must be kicking himself over that contract offer he turned down last summer (if that story is true)
