Hains: The Perfect Scenario
The Canadiens pretty much played a perfect road game tonight and won 4-1 to take a 3-2 lead in the series. They’ll have a chance to close it out in Montreal, Thursday on Quebec’s national day…
The team is playing so well. It's really something to watch them go.

Gallagher posted on his Facebook page: Leaving Las Vegas. Never would have thought in a million years that Gallagher would have kick started a Sheryl Crow song in my head and once which was released in 1993 as well.. Coincidence? I think not! LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkc-en0_LGY

Vegas looked like a train wreck.
I still don’t get all the “experts” saying that Vegas is insane on paper.
Habs seem to have way more talent, speed, grit. Basically i don’t see Vegas having an advantage in any aspect?
Am i missing something?

They looked good in the first 5 minutes than confidence went away and the Habs just suffocated them like some sort of boa constrictor with its prey

Not gonna lie, I was worried about tonight.
However, forever in the first time in over a year, myself and a friend watched a game together... Sure, it was a patio, sure, not an overall win... But I had a great time with a close friend, a better time with a friend, and for the first time in ages, REAL hope Here's to hoping to the next round! (Early yet!)

I'd argue Pietrangelo is probably the best dmen in the series and they're stronger on the wings, but this is one of the rare teams Montreal devours down the middle (better centers), Price, and their dmen defend better as a unit.

Good night, all! For the first time in...too long, I spent tonight on a patio at local joint to enjoy the game and some good libations.
One way or the other, tonight felt.... Right.
Whether we make the finals, or WHO KNOWS the Cup, this represents the first real return to normality
Were the Habs favorites going in?
Nope.
Making it past Vegas?
Nope.
Even if they next their next win, I hope they continue playing as a team, like they've been doing so far.
If they make it to the final and don't bring home the Cup? Not the outcome I hope for, but it's not always about your favorite team.
The Habs have laid a solid foundation moving forward, and even if we don't win it all this year?
It's coming.
Go Habs Go!
Btw, proud of our blogger Karine Haines... She's been the MVP outside of Carey Price in our playoffs. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication.

Totally agree, when Pietrangelo hits our end, my heart beats a bit faster.
At the same time, if the defense is the only play entering our zone? That's a good thing. Not the easiest on our hearts, but the right plays.

If you did a player-by-player comparison a la EA Sports, Vegas would probably have more advantages and bigger margins on several players.
However, what both teams do well is to play better as a whole as opposed to the sum of parts. The Canadiens defend well as a 5-man unit and are very opportunistic on turnovers. Not to say that the Canadiens players aren't skilled, they definitely are. But they're capitalizing on their chances, they're doing a fantastic job of limiting the other team, and Price has been insane in cleaning up any messes.
For the record, I'm pulling for the Habs mostly for Carey Price and Shea Weber, may his beard live 1000 years!

AndI know what you mean about watching a game with a friend again, it feels like a real ray of sunshine shining on you and kinda making it feel like the end of this pandemic is coming and we’ll soon get to live a normal life again....priceless

^This ... and it's obvious.
First time in 30 years where we have an advantage at that position.
Whoever was building this team in those years needs to take (frank)ing notes!!! ... and put down their cranium in shame.
Pietrangelo is their only dangerous weapon so far ... I'm just not impressed by the rest of their lineup. They are easy to bottle up and frustrate.
So the North division is the weak one? ... yeah sure!
Nothing more amusing than shutting the pie hole of some idiots, I hope they enjoy their crow pie. (frank) them.
