Much like the team, I think we just all need a mental break for a day or two to recharge.

Finals are going to be insane, regardless of what happens.

So...I’m guessing you’re the type who enjoys being wrong most of the time? (Even if Habs lose, you’ll still have been wrong 75% of the time.)

I thought the best thing about the possible Habs Cup win was that my now 83 year old father (a lifelong Habs fan) would get to enjoy at least one more. But watching all the Habs haters’ heads explode in anguish if they win will be almost as satisfying.

He's a Wild fan ... he probably doesn't even know what the Stanley Cup looks like.

A few things I gotta say...

First and foremost, thanks to the lovely and talented superfan Karine, who I'm pretty sure could start charging an admittance few to view her vast collection of Habs memorabilia. She's the brains behind this blog and thread, which is good, considering some of the company in here.

Second, I know Drouin is an easy target right now. However, we can't eat with any justification that he's a spineless loser, because he's dealing with mental health issues. The funny thing with mental health issues. It's not something you can just, "Play through, suck it up, ya wuss!". We don't know how long JD has been dealing with these issues. Possibly before his NHL career even started, we don't know, and to be frank, it's none of our business. I'm currently dealing with some rather debilitating issues myself, and I believe Mme. Karine has also had some experience, if not herself, at least in her family. It's easy to point at a multimillion dollar contact, and a career playing hockey, and wonder what JD really has to feel miserable about. Maybe he was bullied, maybe abused in one way or another by his parents/family, or even by his coaches or team growing up. It doesn't matter. Mental health is a sickness, and it is very real, and unlike other illnesses, there's often no miracle drug or procedure to make you feel better. It takes time, and a lot of painful work. I have no doubt that Drouin wishes he could be a bigger part of what's happening, but he's sick right now. Let him start the healing process... For a fan base who is currently lauding the team effort mantra, we sure are happy to single out one guy. Maybe think about that for a minute, eh?

There have been a number of trolls here spouting some pretty nasty hate speech. Be it misogynistic, homophobic, whatever, I don't care. It doesn't belong here. I'm all for the, "Haha, you suck, losers!" witty repartee that comes with this time of year. But let's keep one wee little corner of our world free of sociopolitical garbage. Please? Oh, and to those hate mongering trolls? Braidan is watching. I have no doubt there's going to be a bunch of burnt out alts sooner than later.

Go Habs Go!
