After losing the Stanley Cup Final in 5 games, it’s now time for the Montreal Canadiens to get ready for next season and one of the first task on GM Marc Bergevin’s to-do list should be inking Philip Danault to a contract extension. |

2 or 3 years for Danault would be good, by the end of that KK and Suzuki will be insanely good so the need for Danault would not be as high by then. |

Perhaps but Danault won’t want to sign for 2-3 years, he’ll want long term stability and guaranteed money. Unless he cant get enough on market and chooses a short prove yourself deal but i doubt that will happen |

Anything lower than $6MM for 5-6 years I think MB should do it |

PD would be a huge blow to this team if he left. I think he stays and signs for 5.5/6 and 5 more years at least....does this necessitate a trade of Drouin?....maybe cause the Habs will need to sign or replace Armia and Tatar as well...Coleman anyone? |

His price tag is a bit lower so if it works out I don’t see why not would be a good replacement for Tatar and cheaper than Saad

Button thinks they should offer Danault 4 million for 4 years, that guy is on meth
Bergy should bring Saad in, would be a great replacement for Tuna on the Danault/Gallagher line
Who's going to Seattle? Allen? Chiarot? Evans? I think it's gonna be Lehkonen...
Drouin? How does that end? Probably not gonna be a Hab next season
Corey Perry, no brainer, anytime... I'll pay that guy just to watch from the bench when he's in his 50's
How good are Poehling's chances at making this team next year? Fleury needs to make the team too |

Button is a hot take whore.
Saad depends a lot on term and price. If MB can pull a Toffoli type contract it could be a decent fit.
Right now my guess is Chiarot or Allen to Seattle but there's so many unknowns.
I'm not touching the Drouin situation with a 50 foot pole.
Perry has been found money and a great leader in a type of way the Habs previous leadership group maybe was lacking. He's the kinda player guys would be happy to share a foxhole with.
I think because of the Drouin and Tatar situations combined with Armia potentially being gone that Poehling will be given a shot at 3rd/4th LW. I still think he needs to earn it in camp but it looks like this year in Laval was great for him. Fleury needs to earn a spot on the roster, pure and simple. I'd like him to be the 3rd pair RD but he needs to come to camp and earn it, we saw what not having a viable 3rd pair looked like the last few weeks |
