The Ellis injury issue is becoming a REAL problem at this point. Starting to think this season is looking like a write off for him. What other options do the Flyers have other than bringing up York or Zam?

And, although I thought Oskar's play has been generally better and improving this year, the last game was a stinker for him. Maybe a view from above will do him good. Not sure Brown is an upgrade, though, even over Oskar when he's average.

TK and Farabee with instant chemistry but let’s not try it for more than a period. This fourth line is pathetic, this staff needs to be relieved of their duties.

4th game in 6 nights for Calgary, we love this excuse so hopefully they understand they should lose this game.

Thompson needs to sit. Put Farabee back with Laughton and TK. After a 1st year of pushing all the right buttons, AV followed up with a subpar season last season. We are heading into territory where AV's decision making will be key to coming out of November with at least winning 60% of their games.

We’re doomed especially if they play the backup tender.

I don't think the Ellis injury is an issue until after the all star break. If he can't come back by then, I think the team will have trouble...The issue is not goal tending or D right now, it is balanced and consistent scoring...until that is fixed, the D line up is just a red herring.

Seems as though Ellis is headed for sports hernia surgery or core muscle repair. If so, I’d rather him have it done soon so he could be back in 8-12 weeks.

I attended the alumni game last night, it was a great time. Bill, why could they only muster 4 dmen each side, Upshall had to play D for a bit? Therian was gassed towards the end.

Thompson is a glue guy with some sandpaper to his game. He also touches the Grit n Grind sign on the way out of the Flyers locker room. These things are an invaluable presence for a winning hockey club.

Agreed. If the problem is that bad, get the surgery post haste and come back better as soon as possible.

Let's go boys!

Another tough test. Need to get Hayes going over the next 10 games.

Frigging Ellis killing me. Still can't find a replacement for Nisky.

Oskar will be fine.

We are built as a team that needs to rely on goaltending/defense and get opportunistic goals. No trade during the season will change that. PP is even more important as we need to take advantage of our opportunities. Long season ahead with the Metro being so tough.

Well, I wonder how long we can sustain the D performance before we start springing leaks. As well, we miss Ellis on the PP, and helping the transition game which creates offense IMO. Really hoping it's only a couple weeks recovery but sounds longer.

Seriously? Many teams are done and miss the playoffs by December. Look at the Flyers schedule this month? Missing a top pairing defenseman is a huge issue for this team. They really could be done if they don't have a good month. The Flyers have had a defensive coverage issue all season. Goaltending has been bailing them out. One of the biggest reasons why they haven't been good offensively is a lack of quality transition play from the defense and they are missing that offensive catalyst from the back end. Ellis helps with that.

Exactly, if the defensive play falls off at all we are in big trouble. At the same time the offense is putrid so you’d think they get better. Not a great recipe at the moment all together though

Gaudreau loves playing in Philly. Can get the entire family there to watch. Gets to play against his buddy Hayes. Been on a bit of a slump recently, so it should be a break out for him. Darth Vladar is on a tear, but I doubt that he plays tonight. Marky has had almost 5 days off and plays well after a break. The biggest threat? Mangiapane. Top 5 in even strength goals. Yup. One of those guys that plays less minutes but brings it every shift.
