I'm honestly shocked Fitzy hasn't done anything here in the last few months. All this talk about wanting to be competitive and play meaningful games in March/April, then we're essentially on the border of being out of it by Thanksgiving and he just sits on his hands. No coaching change, no trade to shake things up, nothing.

I guess its nice to hear he's out there in trade talks now going into the deadline looking for more than just selling off rentals, but I would've expected him to be more proactive in the last 2 months. Just a completely lost season pretty early on.

Was hopeful they would fire Ruff to at least "shake things up", but his father just passed away so he's now unfireable for at least 2-3 months. Unless, they spin it that he left the team indefinitely to mourn his father's death. Who knows.

Either way, I agree, this team needs to hardcore kick in the ass and it doesn't seem to be coming from anyone within the organization (coach, GM, Captain, veterans, etc.). More of the same.

I hate to point fingers bc there is plenty of blame to go around, but when you wear the C, you shoulder responsibility. However, I feel we have a captain who gets paid in the upper tier of salaries, but plays with zero heart, grit, and mid-tier skill.

Then there is the goaltending. We have just been plagued by injuries for the past 2 years. But, what do you expect when you sign a guy with a history of serious concussions (Crawford) and a guy with history of lower body injuries (Bernier). And Blackwood? Well, it appears he has a nagging heel injury as well so who knows what the situation looks like long-term. Hoping for the best, but need to prep for the worst.

It's sad that one of our only bright spots is a guy gave up on in the expansion, only to be let go by Seattle, and come back to us in Nate Bastian.

Theres literally zero white or white circles on the jersey and the jersey is tucked in just like every single time they hang them up. I dont see it at all tbh. Its literally chinese characters/letters in gold. If you see a swastika then that just shows what type of person you really are tbh.

Yeah its tough to say, I think Ruff is staying through the end of the season. When he wasnt fired after that embarrassing loss to the Flyers before the Christmas break ive just accepted nothing will happen until the offseason on the coaching front.

Completely disagree on Nico tbh. He's slightly overpaid, but not by much(last time i checked the Athetlic has his market value at $6.7M) and for the people who care about blocking shots to show leadership or some nonsense he has the most among forwards by a decent margin. We cant say hes a bad captain because nobody here is in that room. All we see is his play on the ice and him talking on the bench, leading by example. But we dont know what goes on behind closed doors.

Goaltending is just a crapshoot. Both of the signings were good at the time and shouldve set this team up to have a nice 1-2 punch in net, but here we are. I dont blame Fitz for that at all. Nobody can predict someone retiring out of nowhere right before the season starts or a season ending injury.

I'd argue theres more bright spots for this team than just Bastian. Hughes, Bratt, Siegenthaler have all been very good. Nico was having his best season before the recent 5-6 game skid, all with dog poop wingers. Mercer has shown hes ahead of development, even though hes slowed down a bit after a hot start. And we still have Dougie!

I agree that Ruff's time is running out with the Devs. That being said, let the guy take all the time he needs to grieve. Unless the Devs can win 30 of their next 37 games (to get the 98 point standard that appears necessary for playoffs), there isn't any rush. I wish we could see this team coached better. Just watch the compete level of other teams dwelling in the basement along side us. Seattle, Ott, Columbus all work their tails off and put out a much better showing. We have some high end talent, but not nearly enough to go out and play a soft, unstructured game where we trade chances with teams like the leafs. We all know the saying about insanity, and we continue to try the same thing every game with failed results.

I hope some of you guys jumped on the under 89 points season total that Pinnacle was offering. Team paced for 64 points last season, and guess what? We are pacing for a whopping 63.78 points this season. Consistency!
