Caleb Jones replaces Ian Mitchell, Reese Johnson replaces Jujhar Khaira and Colin Blackwell remains scratched as far as the Blackhawks’ skaters tonight.

C Jones insertion is a tank move. I bet even KD doubts C Jones will ever become anything better than a weak third pair and depth dman. Meanwhile, I am optimistic that Mitchell could become a descent player. Some fans may scoff at a previous suggestion for his ceiling. I beleve he will at minimum develop into a reliable dman.

Two players at Rockford are dmen whom .might be.closest to adapting to the NHL slate; I am going with Galvas and Roos. However, I have a lot of faith in Theo's analysis and hope to see his input on Rockford files soon. I realize that Roos has not a lot of games played,, but due to his pro experience I think early on Theo can declare an initial evaluation of his game and what track to NHL

I think Glavas is this years version of Kalnyuk. First, i don't think 160 pound defenseman are what either Davidson or Richardson is looking for. you have the following ahead of Glavas on the depth chart IMO

And in the long run they probably are looking at del Mastro and possibly Allen as a higher ceiling as Galvas

Considering S. Jones. and one of McCabe/Murphy will probably be back nest year, and the Hawks have 7 defenseman still under their ELC contracts, I can see Galvas getting the non-tender next year just like Kalnyuk did this year. Another AHL depth defenseman.

Caleb Jones has played exactly 164 NHL games.
He has a point in one quarter of those games on average.
He has 190 hits and 190 blocks in the NHL.

When Mitchell looks less tentative, give us a post.

Yeah after getting behind, the forward units didn't declare "we will play fast in unit attacks", they just all (knowing their person high end abilities, decide that they could be selfish one player attacks instead of using each other.

Dalibor Davorsky look well disciplined today.

I remember a few tears back someone telling me these junior tournaments were like all star games but nowadays the player speed let's us see plenty of big hits and wall rubs...it's been a good start around, save Canada...

Yeah it's a tough one. I don't know what they're going to do. I would assume Raanta and Freddie are battling for the backup role at this point unless something happens and the kid completely falls apart.

If I am looking for a depth forward I would think about Tyler Johnson (Hawks retaining 1/2 salary) and Sam Lafferty. Johnson (32 y/o) at $2.5 mil for this year and another year is not bad for 3rd line winger. Lafferty (27 y/o) at $1.15 mil for this year and next for an energy 3rd or 4th liner that kills penalties is not bad. I could see a 3rd round pick for each of them.

Kurashev is a waste in the top 6. Maybe a waste in the NHL.

Lafferty, D!ckinson, and Anathasiou is a decent energy line. At least they took Entwistle off of that line.
