First!!!

A re-signed Kane to play alongside Bedard/Fantilli is an interesting concept even if only until the 23-24 TDL.

I wonder what he'd command, maybe 1 year at 7.5?

Thanks Zach - No way trade him at lower value. Better to shut him down for the year.

Bettman is already planning how to fix the ping pong balls in Arizona's favor.

Ha ha. I feel Bedard will either be a Coyote or a Duck next year. If a Duck, what a mighty exciting group of youngsters they'll have.

It’s not a plan, it’s already done. I hear the ping pong balls with the Hawk logo will be bigger than the opening of the machine.

Zach- Would a Kane-Bedard-Reichel line be the smallest line in hockey? Would need a bigger body to keep the other team honest (and to go to the front of the net).

i think the league needs the Hawks to draft Bedard. Lets face it putting him in a market like anaheim or Pheonix is wasting a very markatable player. look at the money the hawks made the league in the 2010s. remember when we were on every national broadcast and alot of visiting games seemed like home games. Bedard in Chicago gives the league a huge marketing piece. fricken arizona has a 5000 seat arena and really outside of Anahiem how gives a crap about the ducks.

I think you’re right the best places to have strong teams are in larger American markets, Chicago, New York and LA. But where Bedard winds up will be random with the worst team getting the best mathematical chance of drafting him.

Shut Kane down for the rest of the month and see where he is at that point.

That didn't matter for Crosby though!

we drafted alot of forwards 2,3,6,7 rounds. with 9 guys coming you would think a few would be labeled as a wasted pick. the only one I would say that on is the 6th we gave up for liam Gorman who is 22. did not make alot of sense but oh well.
I think you would be hard pressed to find many guys that were taken to high in re draft considering they were for the most part plus skaters with solid compete.

That was a favor to Mario Lemieux for helping save the Penguins stave off liquidation from its bankruptcy.

Patrick Kane (lower body) is doubtful for Thursday vs. Colorado. He’s still listed as day to day. #Blackhawks

Like he did when The Hawks swooped ahead of everyone and won the draft lottery for Patrick Kane?

There was some talk in the last thread about Bedard's size. Here is a write up on Michkov:

https://www.secondcityhoc...-draft-matvei-michkov-khl

Really impressive kid, but 5'10" and 148 lbs (and won't be over until 2025 at earliest)? Can't believe he's even under consideration.

I thought this line was funny though: Michkov, 5-foot-10, a smaller forward but one with good skating ability, offensive weaponry and the ability to get to the net. A fair comp may be Russian Alex DeBrincat, if we weren’t all worried about Cat’s skating after he was drafted.

Looks like Slaggert is struggling. Interesting to still see Jake Wise listed. Maybe he's figuring it out? Turn him into another Hagel and pull a couple firsts out of a hat?

Kane wasn't a sure thing until the day or so before.

Teams like Van Reimsdyk and the Batman fanatic, Kyle Turris.

Jakub Voracek started as the number 1 front runner...and the sleeper was San Jose'ss move up to take Logan Couture as the Blues traded out and took Ian Cole.

Slaggert will be ok, Ilya Safonov who the NBC Sports tv started a new hype about.

Safonov really isn't that high tempo skater, the Hawks keep talking about re-tooling towards, but has a had the opportunity of playing with really high end wingers.

I guess I have trouble thinking Kaner makes more than 8 million.

Michov is special - I don't care about all the negatives of being signed and in Russia, but there is no denying how special he is also...

The first thing Scotty Bowman did for the hawks was give his opinion on Kane. He went to London and watched him and gave a thumbs up on Kane. Kane looked like a little skinny Alfred E. Newman from Mad Magazine when he got here, but he was the real deal as we all know now.
