Fire Lalonde. It looks like the never ending rebuild will continue in the cap age. After 5 years and still rebuilding is just more incompetence. Hard to name another team other than Buffalo that has missed the playoffs longer than 5 or 6 years. Since the cap came into existence. My god it’s hard to find teams that missed the playoffs longer than 6 years pre cap. I believe the coach is a major reason for no emotion or heart and this team’s work ethic is brutal. All coaching problems. Fire Lalonde or Get rid of yzerman and lalonde as they seem to be a pair.

Fire LaLonde. He’s soft. Always grinning and cracking jokes with the press. We didn’t win our Cups in the late 90’s/early 00’s with a Mr. Nice Guy type for a coach. And we CERTAINLY didn’t when we won the Cup in 2008. Nice guys finish last, and then get screwed by the draft lottery.

Didn't get a chance to listen, nor watch. Caught periodic updates online. Wow. The 'Canes are a really good team, Guentzel has helped them take another step, for sure. Too many weapons, simply over-matched. Brind'amour is probably stratospheric as a coach, he's truly next-level. Simply put, out-classed at every turn.

Started 3 steps behind as evidenced by SOG differential. Cannot do that with teams. Looks like we tried to stage a come-back, we're not talented enough to rely on storming the gates in the 3d. Not sure why this is a trend, but the combination of slow starts & trying to mount a massive come-back is NOT winning hockey. This was expected, this loss. Let's be honest.

Not sure where to start with the team. Tear it down? Nah, there's some talent on this team. Bring up some kids next camp for sure. Try to sign a UFA G, or swing a hit trade. Some guys are going to have to go. As muchas I like what he's done, based on his past negotiations & play....Veleno may well be gone. We have too many bottom-6dudes. Gotta find a way to dump Holl....blah blah blah. Same crap as has been said all season.

Lalonde.....Was excited to see him come to us, but wholly and completely underwhelmed with his ability to manage a team and truly fix some problems. The whole staff needs a wake-up call.

Something has to change. It's not about missing the SCPO, guys. It's ALL about the WAY we lose games. That's a system issue. We all knew we wouldn't be strong contenders, but this is about losing streaks, stumbling outta the gate, and no system in place.

Mornin', Dan. Until I re-read your post (1st time was at 630am...), I didn't really see why Lalonde doesn't/didn't seem like THE guy to lead us out of the re-build. "Soft". Interesting choice of words, my friend. That's a good description, I think. Definitely one to add to the lexicon when discussing him as a head coach.

Now, I'm sure he's moderately more animated in the room...and we'll bever know becayse The Captain runs an insanely tight ship, but "Soft" doesn't seem to be the correct approach. Call it the "new way of leading", or whatever other buzz words "certain" factions in society may use, it's not effective most of the time. Now, as a leader, I think it's important to be able to readily adapt ones leadership style to the situation. For ONLY me, if I was the "leader" here.....some poop would be broken. Not sorry. Not apologetic. Not "Soft". Again, it's NOT about missing the SCPO; it's completely about HOW we've missed, the slooooow starts, the comprehensive systemic failures. Soft. Damn right, Dan. Soft is an incredibly accurate term......

We all need to look towards Grand Rapids and realize that the team we all crave is in the future, NOT NOW! Y's picks are maturing and a few of them will be on next year's team. Several of the UFA's will move on as well as a couple that are signed for longer. AND THERE WILL BE AN EVEN BETTER TEAM NEXT YEAR! The future is bright!

Yzerman can only bring in players or coaches who want to be in Detroit and thus we have a roster of Michigan boys far too comfortable being at home.... its embarrassing and honestly blame gies everywhere...... the coach sucks badly, the players are simply disinterested and some don't give a damn.... Yzermans biggest blunder was tge Lalonde hire and the keeping of him... these players have plenty of NHL games behind them and simply underperform and collect paychecks... its unacceptable and that falls on them....... young team learning is a crock of 5hit.... Vegas was young and freshly assembled, teams have changeover any do not crap the bed like this squad.... take the first month of the season from the cat and what has he done.... Copp is a waste of a roster spot, as is Petry....Veleno tries but it's not enough, Ras looks lost much of the time.... Perron is done ..... one thong i can't believe I'm saying is that Chairot actually appears to care and wants to do his best.... hurt to sat that..... hopefully Gallant wants this gig..... or Berubre, someone who will make these divas work....anyway, thanks Jeremy for your efforts and information.... if these players cared and put in effort as you do perhaps the narrative is different

How much time exactly do we exercise patience?... Im curious because I certainly would not accept lack of effort from my piers year in and year out.... accountability plain and simple... perhaps take the homer glasses off and be honest with yourself...these are professional athletes who are not putting in the effort and I promise in my line of work and perhaps yours it would not go excused as you seemingly wish to do..... but certainly grant a pass if you like, each entitled to an opinion... but I must be watching something else because there is no effort or give a damn.....

Wholly agree! GRG is setting a culture of sustained pressure, accountability, and never allowing "good enough" to become the corner-stone philosophy.

From my seat only, as I said above, it's not the falling short of the SCPO....I wanted them to make it for sure.....it's that way in which we lose games that just pisses me off. Caught some video of some GRG games; those lads push it, hard, every shift, they hold themselves accountable, they hit the ice with a fire and sustain that attitude throughout their games.

Definitely good things coming!!!

Starting the season, I was hoping for improvement by the Red Wings avoiding long lo0sing streaks which would show progress. They have not.
