I would rather get nothing and use the money to sign FA's. Giguere stinks. Kobasew is a grinder (we have enough) I dont care about draft picks unless they are top 5.

Al Morganti reported that he was going to the Flyers, as mentioned by one of the refs here. So it can't be true.

if this is true why wouldnt the av's just wait til july1? if its just for his rights then avs are insane.....

The rumored deal is Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Chuck Kobasew, the 41st overall pick this year and a first round pick in 2013 (risky since that could be a guaranteed number 11 pick if there is a lockout) for Parise and Johan Hedberg.

Giguere had a great year last year. He's got at least four good years left. He's not as good as he was early on but he's a good player and great teammate.

If this true, that is a great deal for both sides. NJ would be getting a good return considering Zach can leave for nothing, and probably will. I can only imagine other teams like the Wild could match such and offer. What i really like hearing is he is considering the avs because of the fellow USA players. I hope this rumor comes true. That would be an outstanding addition for the Avs.

The same Johnson that is being rumored to be traded to the Flyers for JVR? As for your comment about the pick, you are right. My point is, generally you get a better shot at getting an impact player in the top 5, then say #17. Of course there are 7th rounders that are great players but for Parise, I would rather take my chances with the money and go sign an established player.

I really wanted to not like you because of your comments in the other thread, but you are right on in this thread..haha I would rather take Marty for another year and let Wedgewood or Clermont back him up and then go from there and see if they can handle the NHL. I really believe Wedgewood is going to be a good NHL goalie. Not Marty obviously but that is asking alot. I dont want Giguere.

I would rather have Parise, but if losing him means I can either A) get a draft pick or 2 and Kobasew or B) Take the 6-7 million per and sign a forward or 2 I would rather do that.
